I had the same porblem and the nice people at lexmark told me how to fix it. First unplug your printer. second.. hold the stop/cancel button while you plug your printer back up..keep holding the stop/cancel button and you will see a message that says erasing memory. the fax, copy and scan lights should flash and only the fax light will be on. That should do it but you will have to put your personal information back in, like your speed dial numbers, etc.

I need to know how to remove my info from my lexmark 4270 series before I trade it in.

Hello,

1.Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.

2. Hold down the Stop/Clear button. (To the right of the Black Copy button.)

3.While keeping the button pressed down, reconnect the power cable. A message on the LCD will display MEMORY CLEARING.
Note: The Fax, Copy and Scan buttons will remain ON until the message disappears. Only the Fax button should be ON when the function is complete.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Blurry printing fro lexmark x4270

May be too much info blocking up print memory. Before printing off sites, make sure you clear print queue and slect printer friendly versions. Check to see if your printer has a work online or offline setting in preferences too.
