Recover a Deleted Recording from Your X1 DVR

1. Press the xfinity button on your remote control.
2. Use the arrow buttons to highlight Saved.
3. Use the arrow buttons to highlight Recordings then arrow down to Recently Deleted.
4. Use the arrow buttons to select the deleted program to recover and press OK.
5. Select Recover and press OK to restore the program.

It is my understanding the xfinity remote is designed only to control comcast set top box and TVs. It also can control audio receivers. It is unlikely you can control a DVD player with it.

At best you could try and use the programming instructions on page 5 of the manual and see if it picks up your DVD player. Otherwise it might be better to use the existing remote controller you have and program the Comcast set top box to it. You need to find the codes from the programming instructions of the original remote control and you will also need to know the model number of your comcast box.

So many times there are multiple codes that will work with TVs. I am not talking about the DUH..there is a whole list of codes. I am saying do not settlle on the first code that worked for you. Try them all and see if that makes a difference first. If you get really frustrated then I would move up to a remote that can be programmed for individual buttons. URC MX350 is the one that I use for my clients. They are a little tricky to program but you can program any button you want by teaching it with a "point and click" approach.
