We have a Leapster 2 which the screen no longer registers when touched by the pen. Can this be fixed or replaced? i bought it only 2 months ago hope you can help Emma

I posted a solution to this problem a couple months ago. We have the Cars edition of the Leapster2. I'm guessing it was the same problem that we were having. When the pen touched the screen there was no response and the unit had barely been used. Try this!! I found it on www.ehow.com.

Callibration
  • If you touch your stylus pen to the screen of your Leapster2 and it does not respond, your unit needs to be calibrated. To do this, make sure no game cartridge is in the unit. Turn the unit on while you are holding down the "Hint" or "?" button. Keep holding the button down until the Leapster2 menu appears. You will need to turn off the unit and repeat these steps if you do not see the menu. When the menu comes onto the screen, press the "A" button and use the stylus pen to touch each of the crosshairs as they appear. When you are done, your unit should be properly calibrated.

The Smartboard is losing the alignment, and the pointer can not appear exactly where I expect it to.

you have to recallibrate the board. on the pen tray, hold down the 2 buttons until the callibration screen appears. with one of the styluses, draw a line from somewhere just outside of the point to the center of the point and release. do that for the other 8. done.

Toshiba TLP-S30 loses calibration/alignment with whiteboard.

there are phisical adjustments for the projector itself. is it on a smartboard? hold down the 2 buttons on the pen tray until the 9 point callibration screen appears. the points react to stylus release, so put the stylus near the point and "draw" a line to the center of the point then release. do the same for the other 8. that should do it.

N991 My styles pen is callibrated but I cant find the icon to switch to handwriting function. I can only type from the keyboard right now. How can I do this? thanks

ummm there is no function in my N99i to actually switch to that. It is automatic just start writing on the screen with the stylus pen when creating a new message. Then you would see you're hand writing then automatically becomes a text or number on the text message.

PS try to press a little bit harder for writing, it really needs to detect the movement of your stylus pen

Gateway tablet cx200X, tablet features won't work/ pen etc

All, There is DEFINITELY A PEN IN THE CX2620 stylii. I just replaced mine with a AAAA battery. The old one (which is a AAAA size, you can find these inside 9-volt batteries) had acid buildup on its positive end and that is why the pen went inactive. There is a lot of debate over this pen problem and I guarantee 90% of the time it's related to the battery. I can do a clean replace on anybody's CX2620 pen/stylii with a fresh battery for $10. If interested email me at [email protected] . You pay for shipping, your total about $17 or so. I have never done this before but I just replaced mine flawlessly so I can do others. I know there are a lot of dead stylii out there and people don't know what to do, took me a while to figure it out.
    Thanks, Kevin Teman [email protected]
