Compaq Armada 1598DT

I have got compaq Armada 1598DT series, the screen on the TFT for win98 os, has squeezed to 50% size and morever the display give 16 colors. So, the icons does not have clarity. Could u plz help me for drivers to update.

How can I build in more RAMs to my Compaq Armada 1598DT ?
Look at the bottom of the laptop.
With a screwdriver, open one of the "doors" that you see.
You may find an "empty" slot, where more RAM can be inserted.

However, finding RAM that will be "compatible" with your Compaq is not trivial -- if you don't understand "HOW" to do this, *STOP* and take your computer to a computer-store, and let them investigate, and sell you the correct RAM, and will install the RAM, and ensure that it works.

HELP
Are you trying to upgrade 95 to 98SE or just new install of 98.
What you may have to do is
  1. insert win 98 boot floppy
  2. boot with cdrom support
  3. at the prompt change to cd drive E:\ (press enter)
  4. at the E:\ prompt type cd Win98 (press enter)
  5. at the E:\Win98 prompt type format C:\ (press enter)
  6. confirm all data will be erased
  7. reboot with floppy in and at the a:\ prompt run FDISK to see if the full size of the hard drive is available. (option 4)
  8. If everything is normal exit fdisk reboot with floppy, choose with cdrom support, type in the cdrom drive letter (usually e) and cd Win98(change directory Win98)
  9. at the win98 prompt type setup (press enter) and follow the prompts.

Compaq Armada M300 Loose Display Screen
There is no adjustment on the m300 v300 m700 v700. These hinges will have to be replaced. I do have a set from an v300 am not sure if they are compatible but you can have them if you want.

where are you what country,? (matters for language and keyboards)
wow, compaq relic day' from the PENTIUM 2 days,a relic !
no exact PC stated, the full model number. just a series
no OS stated, XP? what?
possible wrong can be 3 things,
  1. bad keyboard.
  2. (or wrong kbd for you country)
  3. or unstated windows set to wrong country;

first off the 7400 has many sub models stated on your service tag

In ur laptop,U click on Control Panel - Power options.Click on Power meter.There u select the battery show option.
