I have a Intertherm feh 015ha Electric Furnace in my 1984 Mobil home. The Furnace has worked perfectly until just recently. Now, the fan comes on but there is no heat. Is there a way to just replace a heating unit?
OK, the heating unit works fine but some wiring and the sequencer needs to be replaced. Woohoo!OK, the heating unit works fine but some wiring and the sequencer needs to be replaced. Woohoo!
Thanks Jeff, but I had to have someone come and look at it. the heating unit works fine but some wiring and the sequencer needs to be replaced. The furnace is 30 years old so I definitely got my moneys worth out of it. Now I am wondering if I should fix it or replace it. It would be nice to have the heat but possibly pay for less electricity to run it. ?? You most likely have a bad fan limit / cycling switch. If you kill the power to the furnace see if you can trace the wires from the motor to where the connect to the switch. It looks like a round button with tabs sticking out of it for the wires to connect. Mark down where the wires were connected and take it to a HVAC business or furnace supply house. Be sure to have the model off the furnace with you so you can get the correct parts.
You could possibly have a bad sequencer. Turn off the power and check the normally open connections with an ohmmeter. If they are not open then it is bad.
Those parts are readily available. You can get them at intertherm.com or google hvacparts.com and have your model and serial number ready. You are talking about the pullout at the bottom left of the unit correct. If you have a breaker within six feet of the pullout you can remove it. But be very careful and turn off all power before you try.Rus
Best things to do is find your Return grill in the home.
Get a measuring tape and measure the Hole size with the grill removed, Or filterback grill whatever the case.
Then simply go to a home retailer with the size, or in rare cases you may want to consider a Hogs hair washable filter that can be cut to size, to fit it perfectly.
If your blower will not shut off from the thermostat, you either have a bad thermostat or your red and green thermostat wires are exposed to each other.
