DLP TV turning on and off automatically - Mitsubishi WD-52327

I have an issue with my DLP TV. I turn it on and all is well for about 2 minutes. Picture quality is excellent. The Timer/Power light is constant green, which mean the TV is on. After about 2 minutes the TV picture and audio turns off and the lamp light turns red for about 2 seconds. Then, the lamp light flashes green for about 1 minutes (This I assume is the TV cooling off per the manual). Finally, the TV turns back on and the picture is excellent. That is done AUTOMATICALLY! I do nothing to turn the TV back on. I have unplugged the TV, but that does not help. I don't know where the reset button is, so I wasn't able to push it. Can you please assist me with my issue? Is this the standard for a lamp failure? I would guess that if the lamp failed, the TV shouldn't (and couldn't) turn back on automatically. I took the lamp out for inspection and did not notice any issues, but I am not an expert.

Did your replace lamp come on the screen or did you lose picture? Just because the LED indicator suggest replace lamp it doesn't mean it needs it. If your pix was dull or loss of brightness then replace it, if not then just reset your lamp timer, check your owners manual for instructions.

What is the cause tv turns on about half hour turns off red flash

most likely the lamp. pt# 915P020010
Recommend Phillips, OSRAM, or Mitsubishi original, as others may not work at all or have a very short life.

Mitsubishi wd 60735 dlp tv red lamp light

A common issue and it may be your problem is dust and dirt inside the unit---the set intakes air from the front and exhausts it out the rear==I have seen several of these sets where removing rear cover and taking stthe set outside and blowing it with a air compressor clears the issue.

Fans and other critical items that get clogged or coated with a moderate amount of dust will cause this issue.

Sounds like Mitsu is getting sued left and right about their DLP problems. There is a potential overhaul if you contact their parts department.

Mitsubishi WD-52327 Picture flickers and goes blue

In your case I've seen this and it was a electrical issue between the DLP fan and board. The tv could have a problem with the digital tuner and not kicking a code due to low voltage ... it isn't expensive to fix, just hard to diagnose.

Do you smoke? The fans suck in smoke and it gets tar build up on the connections and that causes this in some cases too.
