Question about Sylvania 6842PF 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television

1 Answer

Plasma 6842PF This sylvania plasma edtv makes a ringing noise when there is a bright background. Close to the noise you would hear when a flouresent bulb is faulty. It's 2 yrs old but has basically made the noise the entire time ive owned it. Any solutions?

Guess what you may have hit the nail on the head. Plasma TV used a balast type power system for the backlighting and that is what you are hearing. I would suggest getting this set looked at to see if the plasma excitor needs to be replaced (it may have another name in this brand of set).

Need to hook up satellite

The provider should at least give instructions or connect it up for you---lots of ways to do this if using a receiver and a sat box etc.

Start with looking over the owner manuals for what you have. A lot of TV shops will for a fee come out and hook everything up right.

I cant hook up my tv thru old vcr, what am i doing wrong, thanks

You have to make sure the tv/vcr switch is on, the way you do this is put a tape in and press play, make sure the set is set to 3 or 4 in back of VCR, then make sure your tv is program to that channel 3 or 4 it has to be programmed and to be prog,, it must see something there.

I have a Sylvania 42 inch Plasma HD TV. It is 3

Hello

Before taking this to a local repair person, I suggest you check with your cable provider. See if they are having trouble with their HD transmission and then have them test your lines. Out here in Arizona with have constant problems with HD due to heat, rodents and poor installations. Your DVR only recorded the problems that were on your set. If these prove fruitless then take the TV to a reputable repair person.

Good Luck

Sylvania 6842PF M screen turning dark red

This sounds like the color processor IC is not working properly. If this is the case you will have to have this checked by a qualified technician.
