Try resetting the e85 back to factory defaults. You need to simultaneously hold down: Fast Reverse, Time Slip, and Open/Close buttons for about 10 seconds.
Be sure to go back into setup to set up the box the way you need it again.

open dvd and look at the capasitors on mains power board and if any have raised tops replace them with same value e.g (2000mf 10v)
capasitors look like little battries with white line on side
UNPLUG FIRST
Open case and look for failed capacitors, which are cylindrical and will have a bulging top and a yellow/gold substance leaking out. If this is the problem, search for previous solutions that mention "solder capacitor C1260" for the DMR-E85. I had a similar 'no power' problem with my DMR-E55 and my son and I were able to fix it Sunday. Not hard to do and mine is working again!
You need to replace the STR-G6353 voltage regulator on the power supply board.

This forum has a couple of solutions for resolving this error message. I personally have only had the u99 error with my E85H unit and resolved it with a firmware upgrade. It has worked great for the last 3 years.
