tom tom and others do this from time to time. i have fixed mine by taking the battery off, you need to open the unit up and un solder the battery. then leave it off for 10min then solder it back on you only need to remove the black wire off the battery leave the other red one on. should be fine then does a full reboot on startup.
Hello Get into its menu, come to 'Manage Maps' window. There you can see 'Change Language' option, with an emblem showing three country flags. Tap on this emblem, and select the language. For more details go to page [35] of its user manual. If you haven't the user manual with you now, inform me your Email address by FixYa comment box. I've the downloaded manual to your GPS, and I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail. I can't send it to you by this window,as this window does not allow me to uplaod PDF files by it. OK.
You mean your device "sees" you on another street, or it's just about the GPS sharp location (displayed on the street and not aside)? First make sure your GPS device and your navigation gadget are PAIRED 9if the GPS is external...) Try to reset your device and on a COLD START wait for a complete GPS fix (latitude, longitude, altitude, satellites, etc.). It takes about a minute and a half for a complete fix. In SETTINGS, under the GPS SETTINGS, select "SHOW POSITION ON THE ROAD".
If you turn on your tom tom gps device and the only thing that comes on is the tom tom display screen, then you need to reset it first. To reset it, what you have to do is to hold down the power on/off button for about 15 seconds and that will reset your tom tom, if it does the same, then you have to reinstall the tom tom application on it.
To reinstall its software, you connect it to a computer then it will detect the device, then the latest software downloads will come up, download it on to your gps, now when you plug it into your car and turn it on, it will get passed the tom tom display screen and start up normally.
Hope this information helped.
Go HERE and download tomtom home, it will give you the options for all available voices for your unit.
just run the tomtomt home after you download it, once the programa is running, hook up your tomtom via the usb cable to your computer that was supplied with your tomtom and click on the add voices tab and follow the directions.
Connect it to your computer, get your free updates and add the available voices. You have to enable the voices on the Tom Tom after you load them in. I have a Tom Tom One. It's accurate to within 12 feet.
my tom tom one third edition connects in less than 40 seconds from ca cold start.
first reset everything then connect it to your computer and upload all the needed updates to it( especially the QUICKGPSFIX feature that speeds up the time it takes to connect to satellites.
after that. go outside and wait for the signal to be acquired ( less than 2 minutes)
Hello,
Unplug your Tomtom device, batteries should be fully charged.
The tricky thing to Tomtom devices is the ROM put into the device. It needs to be reset once in awhile. The soft reset is like formatting a hard drive but leaving the system files alone. At the bottom of the device, there is a reset button. You'll need to use the end of a paperclip to reset the unit. After it's reset, reinstall the Tomtom application only by using the Tomtom Home application. Let it reset itself and come back to the original screen, then go to menu and set your preferences. Also if it's connected to Tomtom home and if you backed up your data to your computer, reinstall your maps. The only time your Tomtom device gets bogged down and won't finish a reinstall is when all 1 GB of memory is used up.
Hope this helps.
