I have a maytag gas stove model #MGR5775QDQ serial # 14863475CX the oven takes a long time to light and when it does it will not maintain a temp.

Hi,
You have a bad ignitor to your oven. Part number you should replace is 12400035. This should fix this problem. Just because it glows does not mean it work correctly, it works off of the flow of electricity rather then the glow of the ignitor.

My Maytag Gemini Gas Range works fine as far as the four burners, the bake on the top and bottom oven, but the broiler on the top oven does not work. Is this a pilot issue? I really appreciate the help,...

If the broiler burner is not coming on it may be a bad ignitor or the ignitor may not be getting power. Observe the ignitor when you turn in on ans see if it glows at all. If not then test for power to the ignitor if you have power and not glowing or lighting replace the ignitor. If it glows but does not light the ignitor may just be weak replace it.

My Maytag gas range oven is not working. The broiler works okay.

Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!

Maytag MCG8000AWW gas dryer no heat

The ignitor may be bad you can chek to see if there is 110volts when the dryer is allin by unplugging the wire to the ignitor and putting using a multimeter to chek for voltage at the wires. If there is power to the ignitor and the ignitor is not glowing up then the ignitor is probably bad replace the ignitor.

Oven not igniting

Very common problem, the ignitor or glow coil heats up but no gas comes out. For me for the last 12 years this repair has always been a weak ignitor. Call your parts store with the model number and check prices on the exact part and on any generic ignitors for this unit. Replace the ignitor and this should do the job. This can be a bad valve not letting the gas through, but again I have never seen that and I replace 4-6 ignitors a week. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

How to check the igniter (continuity?)

If there is power to the ignitor and it does not glow the ignitor is bad. If it does glow,place a clamp on amp meter over one wire of the ignitor and turn the circuit on. If the ignitor reads less than 3 amps,replace the ignitor.
If the ignitor glows and registers 3 amps or more you must check the flame sensor for correct operation. If the ignitor and flame sensor are both good,replace the gas valve coils.
