One of the answers on this page said at the end that "You may have to use pliers to turn the knob" NEVER, EVER USE PLIERS ON A WATCH CROWN (Knob) If you absolutely have to, use a piece of leather or rubber to grab it with if your fingers are too weak to turn it, but NEVER Pliers! Using pliers is idiotic! That is of course, unless you don't mind ruining your watch and scratching it all up.

You have to unscrew the knob first then you will be able to pull it out to change the minutes, hours, date. You may have to use a pair of small pliers to initially turn the knob.

SOURCE: E010 S95986 HSB power cell does not hold charge

Change the capacitor. This is the thing accumulating the energy. As the ordinary batteries, it may go bust, so, all you have to do is to replace it. There is no such a name as power cell in Citizen EcoDrive watches - there are CAPACITOR. Capacitor absorbs the energy from the light sensitive panel(s) and dispenses it in the ordinary battery manner. Advertisements are saying that you will never have to change the battery - that's right, because there are no batteries at all. Instead of battery there are CAPACITOR, but nobody says it will last forever. Rate me, plz.

How do you change the time setting to 24 hours?

  • Press the "MODE" button---usually on the lower left side of the watch, but sometimes on the right center side---to cycle through to the time display.
  • Step 2 Press and hold the "SET" button---usually on the right lower side of the watch---until the seconds flash.
  • Step 3 Press "MODE" repeatedly to cycle through the displays that flash: from hours to minutes to month to date and day. At the end of the cycle is the hour display option. Make this option flash.
  • Step 4 Press the "SPLIT/RESET" button below the face of the watch to change the hour display option to "24-hour display." This is the same as military time. If there is a "NEXT" button on the upper-right side of the watch, use this to advance to the 24-hour option instead of using the "SPLIT/RESET" button. You may need to press a "START/SPLIT" button instead a "SPLIT/RESET" button to cycle between 12- and 24-hour display. The "START/SPLIT" button could be located below the watch face or on the upper-right side of the watch, depending on the model.
  • Step 5 Press the "SET" button again. You are now done. All PM hours should be displaying hours between 12 and 23.

The date changes at 12 in the evening

The watch is set-up for a 24 hour cycle. It sounds like your watch is 12 hours late, so if you just advance the time 12 hours ahead, everything should be solved.

You press the mode button till you get to the point to change the main time, you then press the reset button (bottom button on right side of the watch)to toggle to the hour place, you then cycle thru the time untill the "h" in the top right hand corners disappears and then the watch will be back on regular time.
