Connect the "output" cable from the Shaw Digital Terminal to the "video-in" on your VHS recorder. Change the channel on the VHS to channel #3. Then, press RECORD on the VHS controls.

Yes! All you need to do is get a box and connect it via the other scart socket. When you want to record anything set the timer to record in the same way as before, but change the channel to the AV socket the box is connected to. If the VCR has a PDF setting switch it to off. Remember to allow extra time either side of the programme you want to record. And leave the box on of course! Set top boxes are cheap by the way.

does it not record from dvd? did you check from external source to record? is the vhs tape you insert for recording record protected (small plastic lid broke out to prevent recording)?
please note in your vhs dvd manual it tells which dvd (maxell, tdk etc.)are compatible with the recorder okay do you have a cable/satellite box connected to tv/monitor? yes or no
yes- is the the tv on ch 3? cable connected to cable box in, cable box out connected to dvd in,(on dvd set up menu make sure broadcast is cable) dvd out connect to tv... ? please note some dvd recorder will not record HBO (you can record on vhs tape)
no connect antenna to dvd in, dvd out goes to tv.....
A DTV converter box will take digital broadcast signals from the antenna and convert them to a format compatible with the VCR. You will be able to record programs received through the DTV box on your VCR if you could record analog over-the-air programs before the digital changeover. You can use either the RF output or the component output from the DTV box to input to the VCR.
You need to set the vcr to channel 3 or 4 (whatever channel the digital converter box is set to broadcast on) to record a program. The digital converter box has to be set to the channel you want to record the show from.
Yea I have the same set up and did the same thing as that your trying to do and what you have to do is run both the cable box and the VCR through your TV using the inputs. As well as a PS2 running through imput 3.

If you have a cable box:: the RF cable from the outside to BOX, the BOX to the INPUT of vhs video, the OUTPUT of video (VHS) to the back of TV. Keep the channel for the reception of tv through CABLE BOX according to cable box directions. Put the ch. on the cable box to ch. u want to record...place blank vhs tape ( with the TAB in back NOT broken off ) press [record] usually red button.
Direct copy VCR to DVD:
- Insert VHS tape you want to copy
- Insert a recordable DVD disc
- Press DVD copy button on front panel or remote control (to DVD).
- To stop recording press the stop button.
IMPORTANT: If attempting to copy copyrighted material the Samsung DVD-VR320 will detect the encoding and will not allow the copy to be made.
