The DC18RC are most likely to charged the BL1830 battery, which is the most popular of 18V Makita power tools. It is a Li-ion battery.

And the DC18RC battery charger has two volt 110 Volt and 240 Volt.

The 240 Volt DC18RC charger can replace model DC18RA & DC18SD because of its improved performance and full compatibility with Makita's NEW 'Star' labelled batteries that communicate between the tool, battery & charger. And, it is a fast charger.

It can charge a Makita BL1830 Battery in approx 22 minutes.

But, I do not recommend to convert a makita charger model DC18RC at 110 volt to 240 volts.

The reason is as below:

1. This will void product warranty ! If you follow this mod, you do it on your own risk !

2. There are several comments that described
same model # but with different design and components.
Please beware that this mod might not work on your charger
or worst, will damage it.
Only perform this mod if you know your way around with electronics !

The title is 'How to Convert'so you should show how to convert. A guy who need 220 do not care to damage the 110. The charger is not expansive so why to mention the warranty.

The charger is so cheap to start with so its simpler and much safer just to buy the 240V version. Shame but that's my advice.

Hy at all. I have a Makita DC18RC charger p/N 630714E3 for 110VAC. I need to modify it for 220V because we are in a South American country and mains are 220V. I have the unit disasembled on my work shop an I´m searching for the wiring diagrams. Have you any idea where to get it ? Please if you have some idea send me to . I´m electronic engeneer and need to use the charger because a new one is too expensive for us.
    Best regards.

SOURCE: Ihave 110 volt makita dc18rc battery charger,

I had the exact same problem. I ordered the ZNR V10 241U part from Dija Key. They are around 36 cents if you buy 10 of them. I cut the old one out and soldered the new one in. I changed the fuse over to an automotive one so the fuse is easier to obtain. I plugged it in and charger works fine.
What happens is a voltage spike either low or high gets recieved by the charger. The fuse appears to be slow blowing and does not stop the spike in time. The spike is stopped by the varactor surge supresser. In doing so, it saves the circuit board so all you have to replace is the fuse and the surge surprsser.

SOURCE: I bougth reciprocating saw, model

Why can't you buy the 230 volt DC18RA charger in europe (amazon.europe country) and use it. I had the same issue yet i burned out the fuse in the 110 volt DC18RA charger because i plugged it into the wall just using an adaptor. Lesson learned. Therefore, my first solution was that i bought a converter from 220V-to 110 Volt. This showed me that my charger was done. So instead of getting another 110 volt charger sent here to Europe from Canada, I returned the converter and have on order a 230 volt input DC18RA charger from amazon.de which has the same 7.2-18V output. I have been told this will work yet the fear, and I don't know why, is that it will burn out the batteries in a year or so. It is difficult getting specific information from Makita, but I hope it all works out. Best of Luck for you

Makita charger DC18RC i need electrical scheme or D14 diode value .

The Makita DC18RC charger is equipped with a diode labeled D14 that helps regulate the voltage. It is a 1N4007 diode, which is a 1-Amp, 1000-Volt diode. You can find the electrical schematic for the DC18RC charger online with a quick search.

The charger input voltage should make no difference on the output voltage / current, if they are designed to run on that input particular voltage. A 240 volt charger will not work on 110 volt and vice versa. If in doubt check the output voltage of the charger with a voltmeter. Make sure you are getting around 20 volts dc.

Why does my charger flash but not charge

Most chargers have a specific sequence of flashes to indicate whether it is chargers or there is a problem. If mine flashes real fast the battery is usually too hot to charge. You did not say what brand or model you have. The best way to determine if its a bad battery or bad charger is to try charging a known good battery. Usually it is the battery but occasionally the charger can be the culprit.

I have a electric dryer Model WED5810SW0 THAT I WAS TOLD I COULD CONVERT TO 120V from 240v is this true and if so how do i do this?

If you consider doing this the first thing is SHUT THE MAIN BREAKER OFF. Use an auxiliary light source to see when working in a dead panel. Always keep in mind an ARC FLASH ACROSS HOT MAINS HAS ENOUGH HEAT TO PEAL THE SKIN OFF OF YOU. Before an explanation of how to do it you should keep in mind that this is for a single receptacle only. If any other receptacles are on the same circuit they will also be changed to 240 volt receptacles and if you plug any 120 volt device into them, the 120 volt device will be destroyed. That said OK, any 120 volt outlet can be changed to 240 volt by removing the 120 volt circuits neutral, re identifying the white wire with red or black phase tape and connecting it to a new 2 pole 15 amp breaker. The maximum that this circuit will now load up to is, on #14 wire at 80% = 12 amps at 240 volts. The 120V receptacle must be changed to a 15A - 240V receptacle so that 120 volt devices can not be plugged into it. Never use 2 single pole breakers together because code requires that on a fault trip both legs of the 240V circuit must be disconnected simultaneously. Voltage converter buying guide. Voltage Transformer Buying guide.Voltage converters also known as voltage transformers are devices that convert foreign electricity to power devices from different parts of the world. A step down voltage converter is a 220 to 110 volts converter. A step up converter is a 110 volts to 220 volts converter. Our 2-way converters are voltage transformers that convert power from both 220 to 110 volts and 110 to 220 volts. They also work with 100 volts, 110 volts, 120 volts, 220 volts and 240 volts. I have makita bl1830 battery 18volt it works fine but will not charge, charger lights flash red and green therefore battery will not charge

If both red and green lights are flashing after you put the battery on the charger, the charger is reading the battery as bad or defective and it will not charge the battery. It may be because there is a short in the battery, one of the cells is bad or the battery is just old and won't charge anymore.

Makita 18v 120volt american charger to be used in australia

Don't go buying more stuff when you can fix the problem yourself without buying any converter. The modification required to do it is very easy and most people wont have any problem following it.

You can go to this webpage where a detailed walkthrough is given (with pictures):
http://www.byggebolig.no/index.php?topic=5572.0

Some of the post are in norwegian but the walkthrough is in english.

Good luck and happy moding :)

P.S.

For those of you that have "blowed up" a makita charger 110v on a 220v, don't throw it away!
If you are lucky you have only blowed up the fuse and the varistor, which are easy to replace, and if you follow up the walkthrough you might even go all the way a mod the charger to 220v.

I know, I have already manage to "save" a blowed up charger.
