We've had this TV for a few years with no problems. All of a sudden, the sound is completely gone on two of the channels. Our other TVs have sound on these two channels, so that rules out this being a "cable issue".

TO: rdh041: I don't have the solution to you problem, but we have the exact same problem with our Sharp AQUOS 20" LC tv. Different model than yours, but same age and same perplexing issue. Several channels suddenly have no sound. If you've found a solution, would you please post it? I'll do the same. Thanks.
same problem here.. gimme a holler if you've figured anything out. mine, channels light up, it's getting sound (input) from mics, but it's no sound coming out. i'm almost definite the problem is with the main mix slider. but then again i could be wrong.
Unfortunatly the problem you are asking about is a normal happening in our area with customers of mine that use rabbit ear or house mounted antennas ( Normally not cable or satellite dish). This problem sounds to me like a lack of signal strength on certain channels where your loosing your sound. Since your LCD TV is digital it requires a bit more signal strength to produce sound and picture. Maybe a better antenna, or redirection the antenna toward the station transmitter. Hope this helps.
