Question about Dell 942 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The printer keeps telling me to install a color cartridge when one in already installed. The printer will not recognize it. It will print on black cartridge but it did tell me to install two cartridges, black and color. I installed the black, one one, and the colored one, also new. Then the printer tells me to install the colored one again and againg....... I have tried everything. Can you help me???
After installing a new cartridge you need to open the program for your printer tray and reset your cartridges so that the printer and pc reconize the cartridge is full

here is a link to the cartridge maintenence in the book. What i meant was try to realign your cartridge. i was looking at the wrong model, sorry.
Make sure you have pulled the sticker and tape from the new ink.

I do agree, most of my personal dell products besides my pc go out fast. sorry i couldnt be more help.

What do you mean, printer tray program?
I have taken out the cartridges numerous times to reinstall and it still does not work......
When you say the program for your printer tray??? do you mean the software program for the printer? I have already reinstalled a new print driver and it did not work. So exactly what are you saying when you say"program for the printer tray"?
I spent all day yesterday troubleshooting this problem and still did not get it to work.

Hey, I have already tried to realign the cartridge and it doesn't work either.....
Sticker tape????? come on.. I did that way back...........come up with something new...
I have already been on the dellsupport site.
I have done it all..........except the software. Now where would I find the software for the printer? This was already installed on my computer when I purchased the PC and Printer......

Yes, I have already read the manual and the printer solution center. Have done all these things too..... sorry....
Believe me, I have tried everything....
I even had another person helping me too and he could not come up with a solution either.
I honestly think that Dell puts out a defected
product........ it certainly isn't designed for long term wear. would you say.
maybe two years.......at the most...
