Hello. We moved into a house a year ago that had a sub-zero fridge/freezer. When we go on vacation, the freezer unit sometimes shuts off (from not being used??). To get it working again, we have to turn the freezer up a notch. Consequently, we are now on notch 9 and don't have much room to go! Plus, our stuff is too frozen. But if we try to turn the level down a notch, the freezer shuts off. Or stops working, rather, since the freezer light still functions (and the fridge still fuctions). Another possibly related issue: the icemaker is really annoying and we have to turn it off so that it doesn't constantly overflow with ice. Thanks! Rebecca

It sounds like it may be the thermostat. turn it down to a normal level and give it a good tap to see if it starts. you may need to leave the door open so it warms up bit so it will start, it wont start if its cold as the thermostat would be satisfied. If it does start the thermostat should be replaced. I hope this helps

Sub Zero side by side frig. side not cooling. Freezer works fine

There is a fan inside the freezer and possibly the fridge. It circulates the cold evenly throughout the unit. The fan may shut off with the door open so hold the door switch in to see if you hear the fan. It's behind the rear cover on the inside.

Look on your sub zero for more model numbers. I have found some information indicating that the refrigerator thermostat may be the problem but need those numbers to confirm. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Sub zero 650 fidge holding at 53 degrees

Most likely you have a leak in the evaporator. Subzero warranties the parts for 12 years. Call them to find out what they will cover. They are agreat company and will be fair with you.

Sub zero 650 fidge holding at 53 degrees

That depends on if your model has a five or ten year warranty on the compressor. Your problem may not be warranty related. Check and see if the condenser is clean, check for a frozen cooling coil.

Sub-zero 550 reefridgerator top freezer bottom - refridgerator door not staying closed

Just a guess, but I would check the gasket on the door. They can go bad or get distorted and bunch up and cause the door to bind and not close properly. Also check that the fridge is leveled properly. Will the door close if pushed? Will it stay closed?
