I have an Estate EED4400SQ0 model dryer. When the start button is pushed, you can hear a humming/buzzing noise but the drum will not turn. I manually turned the drum and the noise changed location. This dryer is less than one year old (closer to 6 months).
If you hear the motor humming and not starting at all it most likely has a severe friction problem with the drum or motor. It could possibly have some type of garment jamming the blower wheel preventing the motor from starting too.
Open the dryer door and manually rotate the dryer drum counter clockwise (CCW). It should take very little effort to rotate the drum. If it's hard to rotate that could explain why the motor hums instead of starting up. If it turns freely, shut the door and see if will start. If it still hums and not start it may have bad motor or a low voltage supply to the motor.

my dryer is doing the same thing, except when I opened it the pulley was not connected and the belt was loose, but I have not schematic or clue as to where the pulley goes and where belt connects
i have the same problem. i held down the start button and turned the drum. it started spinning but it starts buzzing agin after that. what could be the problem?
The drum won't turn, no noises and the start button does nothing.
Model AEQ7000EgO
makes buzzing noise(motor)when plugged into power, without pressing start, and wont respond to start
