No audio from lcd monitor (viewsonic) after disconnecting my speakers. (New monitor has built-in speakers)

I just connected a new viewsonic hd lcd 22" monitor with built-in speakers. I disconnected my old speakers, and now I have no sound. There are minimal setup instructions on the new monitor in many languages of very little help.

I have my syncmaster 2220wm hooked up to my laptop. How can I get the monitor sound? It is only using the speakers on my laptop...??

Hello a 2250wm is actually a Viewsonic monitor not a Samsung monitor. To get the built in speakers to work you will need to connect the audio cable from your laptop to the monitor audio jack. This cable should have come with your monitor, it will have a headphone 3.5mm plug on both ends of the cable. If you do not have this cable yo will need to get one before you can make the speakers work right. Here is a link so you can get the cable if you need one.

Audio will not work with the built in speakers

Make sure the plug is in the green connector. Then check the sound setting in windows to make sure it is sending the sound through the proper connecton.

Hi , I own a viewsonic LCD monitor model va1912w. My system has Windows XP. There is no sound from the monitor even after connecting the sound cable from CPU to monitor's audio jack. I have already...

http://www.viewsonic.com/support/downloads/drivers/?prod_name=1912

Try the above link for Vista or XP drivers which may be used with Windows 7 in some cases.

The va1912wb came up when I searched under 1912.

This driver is available directly from the viewsonic.com site.

Uninstall the other driver if possible.

I have a syncmater 2333 HD and after connecting to my pc, i seemed to have lost all sound. when connecting speakers and earphones, there is still no sound. thanks

Did you plug in the audio cable to the back of the computer? If so, this may have disabled the front audio connections (or vise-versa). Try unplugging the audio cable from the computer (that is connected to the monitor) and see if your headphones work. If so, there is the solution to that problem.

Check the audio connection on the back of the monitor and double check that it is plugged into the correct port on the back of the computer. If the monitor has amplified speakers, it would be a good idea to connect to the 'line-out' connector on your computer. This would avoid disabling your front audio panel.

Lastly, check the volume on your monitor's built in speakers. This monitor can double as an LCD television, so it most likely has a separate volume control (that defaults to 0).

Built in speakers not regestering on computer

Do you have a Sound Card installed in your computer, if not. Buy one at any local pars store. Now, if you have one installed. Then you must update your drivers or you are plugging your cable to a wrong output. Use the light green 1/8" connection.

Installed new monitor, lost my sound

If your previous monitor had built in speakers and your new monitor does not you are going to have to purchase new speakers. If your new lcd monitor has an audio input you can purcahse a sterio mini jack cable for under $10 at any store that sells computer stuff (circuit city, best buy, walmart, target, etc). Simply plug one end into your monitor and the other end into your computers audio output jack (usually color coded green). Now of course if that monitor does not have built in speakers your only option is to purcahse a set of speakers for the computer. These usually start at around $15.
