Hello a 2250wm is actually a Viewsonic monitor not a Samsung monitor. To get the built in speakers to work you will need to connect the audio cable from your laptop to the monitor audio jack. This cable should have come with your monitor, it will have a headphone 3.5mm plug on both ends of the cable. If you do not have this cable yo will need to get one before you can make the speakers work right. Here is a link so you can get the cable if you need one.
Make sure the plug is in the green connector. Then check the sound setting in windows to make sure it is sending the sound through the proper connecton.
It appear the monitor has been connected to another system unit than the default. disconnect the entire systems and reconnect altogether, restart the computer to allow the unit to recognise the new monitor. should diplay possible soluiton, else follow the instrcutions below
1.locate the control panel where the options of systems setting is displyed.
2. a click should dispaly a list among which is device speaker options
3. the computer speaker could be updated by clicking to install drivers or codes acquirable from the network.
alternately
1. click on the hardware icons located after locating and clicking into control panel.
2. on the list of add delete hardware provides the option to attempt to delete the speaker codes
3. a delete of the speaker drivers on system restart would prompt the user to update the speakers. A click on the prompt should acquire the necessary installation kit patches from an internet connection if any.
Did you plug in the audio cable to the back of the computer? If so, this may have disabled the front audio connections (or vise-versa). Try unplugging the audio cable from the computer (that is connected to the monitor) and see if your headphones work. If so, there is the solution to that problem.
Check the audio connection on the back of the monitor and double check that it is plugged into the correct port on the back of the computer. If the monitor has amplified speakers, it would be a good idea to connect to the 'line-out' connector on your computer. This would avoid disabling your front audio panel.
Lastly, check the volume on your monitor's built in speakers. This monitor can double as an LCD television, so it most likely has a separate volume control (that defaults to 0).
Do you have a Sound Card installed in your computer, if not. Buy one at any local pars store. Now, if you have one installed. Then you must update your drivers or you are plugging your cable to a wrong output. Use the light green 1/8" connection.
If your previous monitor had built in speakers and your new monitor does not you are going to have to purchase new speakers.
If your new lcd monitor has an audio input you can purcahse a sterio mini jack cable for under $10 at any store that sells computer stuff (circuit city, best buy, walmart, target, etc).
Simply plug one end into your monitor and the other end into your computers audio output jack (usually color coded green).
Now of course if that monitor does not have built in speakers your only option is to purcahse a set of speakers for the computer. These usually start at around $15.
