Question about Compaq CV 7500 17" CRT Monitor

My monitors turn off after a minute

. i have a problem with my compaq monitor everytime i turn it on it runs fine but after a minute it automatically turns of , but the pc is still running , i even tested my cpu with other monitors but it was fine.. pls help ....

Maybe you have a "cold solder", if unit keep turning on when it's cold, is it... If you have the skill to open it and you have a solder iron, maybe you can try to fix it, if you don't leave it to the repairman.

have you tried going to menu and setting back to factory defaults? also, disconnect power cable and leave unplugged for 1 minute. Plug back in then see if problem is still there. Otherwise, something is wrong with the monitor that will need serviced or exchanged.

The monitor setting in windows maybe incorrect. When booting up before you get the windows logo start hitting F8 and then choose safe mode. If your monitor works in windows there then check the monitors settings. You may have a driver issue or a settings issue when in normal windows mode.

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.

some electronic components on the circuit was shorted.
