My 4 wheel drive won't engage in 2002 ford sport trac? Could it be a blown fuse? If so what's the number on fuse?

Wouldn't think fuse being the problem , fuse's don't go bad and don't blow for no reason . If the fuse was or is blown you would have bigger problems , electrical short . The wire or circuit's that fuse protects are battery positive voltage ,if the wire has been rubbed through an touching any metal on the vehicle this would blow the fuse. Your 4 wheel drive is controlled by a four wheel drive control module (computer) , Has four different fuse's that supply Battery voltage to it. The 4X4 system is able to set code's in the 4X4 control module , your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop. These 4X4 systems can set a bunch of different code's

I have a 2007 chev Uplander have a code P0116

You can drive it a day or two before it resets because DTC P0116 is a Type B DTC. Which means this DTC runs only once a drive cycle . Where as a type A DTC runs continuous.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
?€¢
The control module detects a temperature difference between the ECT sensor and the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor of more than 100°C (180°F) at start-up.

OR

?€¢
The control module detects a temperature difference between the ECT sensor and the IAT sensor of more than 15°C (27°F) and the time elapsed cranking the engine without starting is more than 5 seconds.

OR

?€¢
The control module detects a temperature difference between the ECT sensor and the IAT sensor of more than 15°C (27°F). The vehicle must then be driven for 5 minutes over 40 km/h (25 mph). If the IAT sensor temperature decreases more than 5°C (9°F), an engine block heater was detected and the test is aborted. If the IAT sensor temperature does not decrease, an engine block heater was not detected and DTC P0116 will set.

Diagnostic Aids
?€¢
Inspect the ECT sensor terminals for corrosion and for engine coolant leaking through the sensor. Engine coolant that is leaking through the sensor will create a high resistance short to ground. This condition results in less voltage on the ECT sensor signal circuit, which is interpreted by the ECM as a warmer ECT.

?€¢
An IAT sensor that is skewed colder at various ambient temperatures due to greater resistance than is normal will increase the range between these two sensors. Measure and record the resistance of the IAT sensor at various ambient temperatures, then compare those measurements to the Temperature vs Resistance table. Refer to Temperature Versus Resistance .

?€¢
A slight to moderate resistance in the IAT sensor signal circuit or low reference circuit will increase the range between these two sensors. This condition results in a greater voltage on the IAT sensor signal circuit, which is interpreted by the ECM as a colder IAT.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Inspect the cooling system surge tank for the proper coolant level. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing and Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. If the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more, the ECT and the IAT should be within 15°C (27°F) of each other and also the ambient temperature. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF, and use a scan tool to observe the IAT and the ECT sensor parameters.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Circuit/System Testing
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ECT sensor.
  2. Ignition OFF for 90 seconds, test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal A and ground.
  3. ?‡'
If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.

  4. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool ECT parameter is less than -39°C (-38°F).
  5. ?‡'
If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal B for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.

  6. Install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal B and the low reference circuit terminal A. Verify the scan tool ECT parameter is greater than 149°C (300°F).
  7. ?‡'
If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.

  8. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the ECT sensor.

Code P0115 Check Engine light on, fan runs continuously at high speed

The ECT sensor needs a power and ground to operate. It uses resistance to create a signal that is sent back to the computer. You can use a volt meter and check the plug for a 5 volt reference on one wire and the other wire will be a ground. If no 5 volt reference, look for a burned out fuse or broken/damaged wiring. A scan tool that shows data would be very helpful in knowing what the sensor is reading. The sensor may be reading properly and the problem may be due to a low coolant level or defective thermostat

What can cause trouble code p0118 engine coolant temp sensor ( high voltage input ) 99 intrepid 2.7 v6

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is a variable resistor, that measures the temperature of the engine coolant. The ECT sensor has a signal circuit and a low reference circuit. The engine control module (ECM) supplies 5 volts to the ECT signal circuit and a ground for the ECT low reference circuit. When the ECT is cold, the sensor resistance is high. When the ECT increases, the sensor resistance decreases. With high sensor resistance, the ECM detects a high voltage on the ECT signal circuit. With lower sensor resistance, the ECM detects a lower voltage on the ECT signal circuit. If the ECM detects an excessively high ECT signal voltage, which is a low temperature indication, DTC P0118 sets. You have A bad coolant temp sensor or a wiring problem !

97grand am code P0118 replaced ect sensor clear code P0118 returns reference voltage is 2.4 volts engine off key on scan tool shows -38F with engine hot replaced ecm same result

Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor screwed into a coolant passage in the cylinder head. Sensor resistance is high when coolant temperature is low and resistance drops when coolant temperature increases. The powertrain control module (PCM) provides a 5 volt reference and a ground to the sensor. The PCM monitors voltage drop to determine coolant temperature. If the ECT reads less than freezing temp. when engine has been running for more than a few minutes, the PCM determines a circuit fault and sets this code. Or if the PCM determines the sensor resistance is out of specs, this code is set.

The reference values given below are measured between ECM terminal 72 and ground...

zjlimited_9.jpg

When measuring input / output voltage be careful not to use ECM ground terminals. The ECM will enter fail safe mode once a malfunction is detected and the MI will light up.

Usually, P0118 is indicative of a bad temperature sensor, but doesn't rule out these other possibilities. If you're unsure of how to diagnose a PCM, do not attempt.
