My Dirt devil Reaction does the same thing. So I took apart the motor and it was crammed w/ dirt then I decided to clean it out. next time I vacuumed my house it was a lot quieter. The guy from Jones sew and vac said baggless vacuum filters most of the time fail and let dirt get in the motor and start to scream. I read a lot of things saying Dirt devil Reaction is the most common vacuum to get dirt in the motor and start to wail then get worse & worse and get to the point where they start to almost scream. P.S if you let it scream for along time of use it will give the motor permanent damage and you will smell electrical burning, if that happens it will be too late so you will half to buy a new machine. To get to the motor you can take the dust contaner off and take the black filter then use your down stairs vacuum and get a small attachament and stick it in and vacuum it out,if not have two vacuums borrow one. If that doesn't clean it out you will need to take all the plastic appart and realy get to the motor good. If my advice dosn't help it is ok to still use it, it will just be loud until the motor of it is totally fried. This should work it worked on my Dirt devil Reaction. I'm sorry if it doesn't work out. :D

The carbon brushes on the motor may have either went bad or need to be reseated.

How to clean/lubricate bearings on Dirt Devil motor?

If you know some one with compressed air blow out all dirt particles best as possible then get a 3 in 1 oil or sewing machine oil drip along the motor shaft and turn by hand you will be able to free the difference once lubricated it should only take a few drops per side . let set for awhile and repeat . then put her together and see if motor speed returns to normal . also check turbine wheel for slipping on shaft.

I have cleaned the canister, the filter, everything....and yet the dual blades won't turn and there is barely any suction. HELP?

the suction part must be a clog in between the suction port into the unit check that and if they dont turn maybe belt broke or something is stuck

Vacuum making loud noise

It could be 1 of 3 things:

1. The belt2_bing.gif that drives the beater bar. (Inexpensive)

2. An impeller that has a broken wing or 2, throwing it off balance. (Expensive)

3. Or, the bearings in the motor are going out. (Expensive)

Hope this helps,

My dirt devil reaction is spitting out dirt everywhere. how do i fix this?

Sound like you have an obstruction in the suction path. check the foot (bottom) check for suction at the hose for blockage. the blockage is where you lose suction.

Canister

The filters are not clean on both sides. Check the main filter at the top and the internal filters for each side, clear and brush cleanly and gently to remove all clogged dirt as well as checking the hose and inspection airways i.e. when the bin is taken off check the holes behind it and behind the beater bar for any clogging material.

Dirt Devil Reaction Dual Cyclonic- M110000, "cyclones" not spinni

If the filters have been washed and installed back in instantly there wont be any suction. Check the top filters have been cleaned thoroughly and also check inspection tubes/hose and dust channels to check for a clog. Also check the sole plate / bottom of where the beater bar as there may be a clog somewhere.

Dirt Devil vacuum

You might unhook the belt, if it still sounds real loud, then the motor is bad and will have to replaced.
