Lamp replacement Agfa duoscan 2500 the lamp needs replacement I am getting streaks or rays on my scans

Just replace the lamp! It's just a fluorescent light you can get anywhere. You don't need a new scanner, if I had to replace the scanner every time the lamp died I be in the poor house!

I would suggest you getting a new scanner since the replacement board can cost half the price of a new scanner. Defective Lamps will only give you blurry images or fuzzy one. IMHO

Therefore, we are no longer able to provide any support. Agfa does not keep digital cameras or scanners, nor spare parts for these products, in its stock. A number of companies (such as VueScan) offer drivers that should allow older scanners to work with recent operating systems.

The solution is to buy a new scanner.

Where can I buy spare parts? i need a new lamp.

I have a Agfa DuoScan F40 Flatbed Scanner. It appears that the scanning function is not working. Light is not turn on.Blank white paper as a result.
I wonder if we could somehow mod the scanner lamp since it is nearly impossible for us to buy the scanner lamp nowdays,even Agfa support say so.
The function of this lamp is similiar to a torchlight.It will brighten the document that we want to scan during the scanning proces.What if somehow we manage to use other device other than the lamp it self like superbright LED(20 watts) or another lamp scanner from dead scanner macine.I think it will work.Anyone care to comment....

Trouble with an older scanner

I'm assuming this scanner interface is a SCSI connection. First thing you may want to look at is the SCSI ID number switch at the very back end of the scanner. Before changing the SCSI ID switch make sure your scanner is powered down. Repeat steps above when trying different SCSI ID numbers to see which one works with your computer. If you have other SCSI devices connected make sure they are not sharing the same SCSI ID # which will cause a conflict.
