https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsY0FbT8zls To close the lid, place it on the pot making sure to align the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the lower handle. Make sure the lid is evenly placed on the top rim of the pot. Turn the lid clockwise until the handle on the lid and the lower handle on the pot meet, the lock will automatically click into place.

Hi, for the oval lid (SCVS600) for less than $2.00, buy two 3/4 " long stainless steel #8-32 round head (Phillips) screws with self-locking nuts. Using a 5/32" drill bit, drill a hole through the handle at each of the two locations in the handle where the original threaded inserts were located (they are probably out since that is where the handle probably broke). (NOTE: Drill the hole in the handle at the same angle that the original screw makes with the handle because of the curvature of the glass, so that the new screw head will still set flush against the glass.) Using the original inside washer from the original screw, re-assemble the handle onto the lid. The 3/4" screw will not extend out past the top of the self-locking nut - it will sit below about 1 - 2 threads - but that's OK. This sould never break again.
For what it's worth, when the handle on my mother-in-law's crockpot broke, I went to Home Depot and bought a cheap wooden drawer knob (about $1 as I recall). I put a plastic washer between the knob and the glass and another under the screw head from the bottom (to prevent cracking the lid), tightened the screw and good as new.
The top can be replaced but it is expensive. Your range is less than a year old call a local servicer to see if there may be warranty available to cover this problem it may not cost you anything. Good luck.
MY CROCK POT PLATE IS BROKEN, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN REPLEACE IT, AND IF A NEED AN US ADDRESS OR IT CAN BE MY ADDRESS IN MEXICO. AND THE COSTS. THANK YOU.... MY MODEL IS 5855 OVAL PROGRAMABLE. THANK YOU LUCY
