You need an audio y cable - That is a cable with a headphone jack (to plug into the speaker/line out jack on the laptop) and on the other end 2 rca jacks (they need to be plugged into the left and right audio inputs on your tv but make sure it is the same inputs that work with the s-video cable) That should get you sound on your tv. You can get 1 here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812196019 Or pick 1 up at your local $1 store. Or if you have an old pair of headphones, rca jacks and wire you can even make one.

How do I get the input to work for the PS3 on a a RCA truflat tv, the cords are connected properly, we tried all the inputs. now what?

If the PS3 was hooked up to another TV, perhaps with the HDMI, the PS3 needs to be reset. With the PS3 off, press and hold the Power button for approx. 10-15 seconds until it beeps again. This should provide picture/sound through the A/V cable. Hope this helps.

My rca truflat tv will get a black box pop up on the screen. It covers most of the picture. Sometimes there will be text in the box. If I adjust the volume it will disappear for a few seconds then come...

It is a Text or Description box that operates like Closed Captions. Cycle through the options by pressing the Caption button on the remote or go to the Caption menu and turn it off.

Hello, I have an RCA Truflat tv that I bought

If you can hear sound and the sound coems from your TV, try changing the volume with teh TV remote control. Your TV isn't off it is still on. Just the video board or portion is cutting out. this could be a ton of things, I would try changing out the power strip or plugging the tv into the wall directly to make sure it has enough power. other then that you can try a home brew solution like putting a fan next to your tv to cool the component that seems to be overheating and shutting down your picture.

No picture with vhs

Don't pass the video sample through the Onkio.. Use a second single RCA patch cord to go from vcr to TV... Use the same yellow out on the vcr that you're using now and send it directly to the yellow video input you're using on the TV..
Hope that's clear - I'm getting tired...
