How do i get rid of the static in my model CKS2235B radio? The original literature which i no longer have indicated that the power cord is an antena. There is no one position that works with that approach. If there is no solution please let me know so that I can dispose of the radio and get one that is not aggravating to listen to.

You will have to place the radio away from any noise sources. Like television, lamps, fans, other stereo equipment, refrigerators. These all cause noise on the a/c line current. This is the source of noise. You can try using a/c line filter/surge protectors to stop the line noise interference. Plug the radio into this and place it near a window so it can easily find the signal source. You can also look on line for more information on how to limit noise interference on a/c line connections. I hope this information help you with your problem.

The A/C line cord is the FM Antenna. The AM Antenna is located on the back of the Clock/Radio inside the case. You have to remove the Clock/Radio from any source of external noise.

I just put up new led shop lights in my garage. Now my radio is full static. What can I do to get rid of the static.

Try using a ferromagnetic device on the radio cord. They are small circular magnets that help reduce noise or prevent noise from being transmitted to other devices.
Check the GROUNDING ability of the lighting circuit, whereby noise is being transferred along the power lines and such the conduction is being picked up by your radio. Try to connect the radio to a power line that is not associated with the same electrical panel that your existing garage lights are being powered by.

There is interferance in th esytem that is causing this effect. If the noise is coming while in motion then the noise is induced from the electrics of the vehicle.
Check or add a 0.47mfd/100Volt capacitor which is a clip type to the power into the set. If not use a DC/DC isolator or even a inductance coil with a capacitor , one you can salvage from an old set.
Make sure the antennae is good and the local reception is strong. If not the static might dominate.

in order to remove the static from the machine you need to take the battery out from the machine and there should be no power to it from the power cord also then hold the power button for atleast 2 minutes and then put the battery in the machine and then power it on and you can connect the power cord also then it will work .

You just need to go to Radio shack, and get a DC9V Adapter at 500mA and the correct polarity of (-) on the outside and (+) in the center. Original was a AHEAD AC Adapter Model ADB-0900500
