Ps3 freezing I have the 80gb ps3 and when the ethernet cable is hooked up it freezes up when i boot it up if i disconnect it before booting it up it works but i have noticed that when i download it is running very slow my connection is good to my isp i have tried going through the router and directly into the modem and still the same problems

turn on PC first. count to 10 and turn on monitor 2nd
if monitor brain shows NOSIGNAL your VGA PC port is dead or cable bad but monitor is not bad with that error on the screen, or monitor is set to wrong input port on the OSD of monitor.
this MOBO has no video port at all
so you must add a video card, AGP or PCI.
AGP is huge pain here, as 1/2 the cards made do not work here.

but does allow
supports 3.3v / 1.5v, 4X / 2X / 1X AGP cards

Your PS3 supports both wired and wireless. Heres how I have mine set up, Ive been running wired since day 1. 1st- hook your ps3 up to your modem or router with an ethernet cable. {im assuming ps3 is plugged into the tv, if not hook it up}
2- go in to your network setting on ps3.. If you start at the far left go over click and all the way down. You will see network settings. click on it and go down to the 3rd option there.. Internet connection settings. You will get a pop up that says your ps3 will be disconnected from the internet if you proceed, just hit ok. It usually automatically detects if you have the ethernet cable plugged in but just in case it doesnt go ahead and select wired. after that, just select auto for everything else. You will go through about 5 questions and it will be ready to do an internet connection test. All should be well.
If that doesnt work, make sure all the cables are plugged in and try again.If you are able to connect to the internet after that but get booted off, go back into network settings again and disable the media server. Hope that helps.. Happy Gaming

try booting in safe mode. restart laptop keep tapping f8 then boot safe mode with networking. once you booted to safe mode with networking try plugging in the ethernet cable to the lan port check if it still freezes the touchpad mouse pointer. if not then try to ran full system scan antivirus and check running programs on startup that might cause the conflict. if the problem exist in safe mode with networking download the latest bios for your system.

This sounds like your hard drive might be bad. Try pulling the hard drive out of your PS3 then turn it on and see if it will turn on. If the system turns on then i would say your hard drive definitely needs to be replaced.

Try swapping the ends of the ethernet cable between your PS3 and the router. Otherwise, try a different ethernet cable. Also check that there are lights on by your ethernet port on the PS3 and the router.

Try disconnecting the data cable from the hard drive, then see if you can boot to the Resource CD. If you can, there is a good possibility the Hard Drive is bad.

If no difference, then try disconnecting everything but video, see if the system will boot past the Splash screen. SOmetimes periferal items cause issues

Same problem here. You have to wait till Rockstar comes out with a patch for the game.
