Usually in a laptop you can't just throw any motherboard in. Usually it has to be the same make and model. Sometime the boards can be interchangeable with in model families. However, I wouldn't bet on it.
The sound driver for your computer can be downloaded by using the model number of your Computer mainboard, use Google!
The model number of your computer mainboard can be found on you computer mainboard between the PCI, PCI-Express or RAM slots.
So type model number of your computer followed by audio driver into Google!
You need the model number of you computer mainboard, if you are using onboard audio and if you are using a sound card you would need the model number of that card. The model number of the mainboard can be found, either between the PCI, PCI-Express, AGP slots or near the RAM slots.
So it's the name of the manufacturer of your computer mainboard, eg: Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Abit, Foxcon etc... and the number that follows.
Then go to the manufacturers website and under the support heading, find your mainboard audio drivers.
You need to install the audio driver for your computer mainboard. The audio driver can either be found on the CD disk that came with your computer mainboard or on the internet. To find it on the internet one would search the internet with the name and model number of your computer mainboard followed by the word Audio. The name and model number can be found written on the mainboard, between the PCI, VGA, PCI-Express slots.

To update the Bios, you have to know exactly the Manufacturer, the mainboard model. You have to go to the Mainboard manufacturer Support Site to download the precise Bos file for the mainboard for the update.
A word of advice, updating the bios is not for the "novice" users. There are many precautions you need to heed before doing a bios update. Any errors during Bios update might render your mainboard useless.
Type the name and model number of your mainboard into google, remember to include the VER number. Your model number of your mainboard can usually be found between the PCI, VGA, AGP slots.
