Whirpool gas dryer not heating up

My Whirlpool gas dryer (model LCR7646JQI) is not heating up. I turned on the dryer and looked inside the gas chamber via inside the pilotless hole and it seems as if nothing is glowing. I figured it might have something to do with either the igniter, the flame sensor, the thermal fuse, the high limit thermostat, the operating thermostat or the timer. What can I do to further determine what the problem is?

Take a volt meter and call for the unit to come on. Take the connector off to the igniter and check for voltage to those wires. If you get voltage but it does not start, then you know the igniter is bad. It could also be a limit switch. There will be 2 wires that terminate to a small disk with a button in the center. Depress the button firmly to reset it. It should be located near the burner. If it is the timer, you will need to locate and isolate the power wires leaving the timer and check voltage there. Hopefully this information is helpful.

The heating element is on the back side under the dust cover.
You gotta remove a strap at the top of the heater chamber and then you can get the heater assembly out. Remove the filter and raise the top:

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Dryer does not release any heat

Is yours the gas model? If so I need you to look for some things. Open back door panel and see if while trying to light the igniter is glowing orange. Sea Breeze

In my case, the problem was a dead main board. The board cost $190 and the overall repair cost $335. I will never buy another Whirlpool due to this experience.
