    Hi,

    I have done electronics at RMIT, graduating as in Industrial Electronics in 1975. I mainly do work in Valves, but having been involved in communication electronics do not get into to CTV's all that often. I have an understanding of the perils of high voltage and the methods to protect and work safely.

    Given this, any pointers you can provide on this situation I would be able to investigate.

    Looking forward to your views,

    Many thanks

    flash near gun is not a good sign for crt.
    please check crt electrodes for high voltage.
    if power supply is giving high voltagr this type of situation arises.
    & finally check for crt.

Sony Trinitron WEGA KV-XJ29M50 29" TV - Dead, LED flashes 2 times

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

Sony Trinitron

HI!
Observed the standby light for flashing;becaused there is diagnostic code for flashing;
If ever there is no sign of standby light,your power supply is depected maybe a blown fuse,if you know how to open the back cover,you can replace that fuse,it is very easy (DIY) do-it- yourself.
I will follow the diagnostic code;

Hopes it may help you;

Sony KV-24LS35U green light flashing 11 times

The Sony error codes go up to 7, so when the standby light flashes 11 times it usually means that one of the clock or data lines deep inside the set is shorted to ground. This is not fixable from the front or through the remote, so the set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.
