If the machine is a top load estate washer the mechanism that triggers the machine to agitate may be misaligned or broken basically blocking the door shut. I suggest a repair man as this mechanism is near the hinge on the machine and taking apart the machine while under warranty would most likely void the warranty.
From what I've heard... the machine has to go through at least SOME (like a minute or 2) of the dryer cycyle... then I've HEARD that the door will then be able to be opened.

Unplug the washer. Then plug it back in and press the button that turns it off. This should unlock the door. Same thing happened on mine and there was a kink in the drain hose. Once I unkinked the hose, unplugged it, plugged it back in, turned it off, then I was able to run a drain & spin cycle to get the water out of the load that was in the washer. I then ran a full wash cycle (they'd gotten stuck in the first drain & spin cycle of a wash) and everything seems to be fine now.
"In washing in the HE washers I think that if you have more than 3 loads a week you should maybe wash your washer at least once a week.I have started wiping the door off and leaving it open between washing and that helps a lot with the smell. This is why I think if you could wash the washer once a week it would probably do better. You never had this problem in the old washers."Try this in your washer.
Removed hose connecting to water pump at tub. Removed clog (ink pen, coins, etc). Replaced and ran washer. Ran through all cycles - no leaking, no pausing of cycles. Problem is resolved.
the only thing you can do now is replaced the door boot seal. after replacement usually you have to leave the door open till completely dry or dy it with a towel after each wash
Did you check the door bellow. I know you said it's not the door but if you really open that rubber pull it back and check it from top to bottom. let me know I'll keep thinking.
Check and ensure that the tubes and passages to the water level pressure sensor are not blocked by caked detergent, lint , etc. ( this may have caused the water overflow in the first place) clean up the internal parts that are wetted by the overflow.
clean the door lock mechanism. ( this normally works on a temperature delay mechanism, if cleaning does not work, replace)
all the above done with the power unplugged and water inlets unplugged , of course
Select Drain/Spin to remove any water remaining in the washer. The washer door wil unlock at the end of the spin. The washer door will not unlock if the unit has not drained.
