What channel should my Toshiba 32 in be on for cable

What channel? Do you have a cable box from a provider? If yes, then the HDMI output from the cable box will go to one of the numbered HDMI inputs of the tv. Use your tv remote to select the correct input (source button) and when you find the corresponding numbered HDMI input, your signal should be there. If you are not using a converter box and your signal comes in from your wall to your tv then you must go into the menu settings of the tv and select a channel search. Usually an "automatic search" will do .Click that and allow for all the channels to be scanned. You will be limited to how many channels the tv will allow. If you know the cable signal has channels 1-200 but your tv can only "detect" channels 1-165, then you will be short 35 channels. Only way to to get more is to get a converter box. The only time you should be choosing a channel (3 or 4) to view cable on the tv is if the cable signal is going through a vcr first and then to the tv

Our remote bit the dust in the hurricane in Bonita. Can we get a replacement? Model 0625615? Thank you!

Hello, Nina -

Clarification: Are you asking about a replacement remote control for your TV or for your TV cable or satellite box?

If it is the remote control for the TV, you can purchase a universal remote control which should work with your TV. Be sure to read through the manual which comes with the universal remote control.

If it is the remote control for your TV cable / satellite box, then you should be able to call the Customer Service number for the cable / satellite provider and ask for a replacement remote control. You will probably need to provide your cable or satellite customer number and maybe some other form of ID.

Sharp aquos flat tv sound can not be control with remote, remote okay

I am not certain what you mean by remote is OK but the way remotes work with TV sets and cable boxes is that the remote sends channel info to the cable box and sound control to the TV set. Is the sound on full blast? Some cable boxes allow you to adjust the sound too. Without more information it is difficult to know where you are having a problem.

TV will not let us manually put in channels

Do you mean using the TV or cable box remote? If you are using a cable box remote, then the TV remote control may not work due to having the TV on one specific channel so the cable box remote will work. Or, if just using a TV remote with no cable box remote, then the keys on the remote could be overused and pressing them might not be allowing the key(s) to come in contact with what the key(s) are suppose to come in contact with on the circuit board below the key(s).

I have comcast remote and granddaughter turned tv on side panel. Now screen is fuzzy and I can't find remote that came with tv. I get picture back?

Hello Mary and thank you for choosing FixYa today for your online technical support needs.

When you say the TV is FUZZY, do you mean that there is no picture there at all?

It is possible that your grandaughter may have changed the VIDEO INPUT MODE SELECTOR on the TV by accident when she tried to turn it on with the controls on the TV itself.

Most TVs have a button right on the front of the set itself labelled INPUT which allows you to switch between the various input modes. That button should be located right beside the POWER, CHANNEL, and VOLUME buttons on the TV's front panel.

You may simply need to press the INPUT button and select the proper INPUT SOURCE for your Comcast cable box.

The proper INPUT MODE for your particular setup will depend on how your Comcast cable box is connected to your TV. If your cable box is plugged into your TV with an HDMI cable, then make sure your TV INPUT MODE is set to HDMI.

I hope this helps out, and please feel free to comment back to this page with any additional questions or concerns and I will respond back.

If you do need additional help, please be sure to include the exact model number of your TV and of your Comcast cable box as well as how the two are connected.

Good luck and take care.

Joe.

I am having problems getting cable on my TV. The cable man told me on the phone to change it to either #4 on the back of my cable , and then the cable will work. The problem I have is when I look into the...

There are several possibilities here Brenda. If you have a cable box, then the signal is coming out either as component (5 individual connections of varying color) or High Definition (1 cable that supplies both audio and video). If you don't have a cable box, then the cable runs directly into the back of your TV. This is calle da coax cable. Either way, each "input" on the back of your tv should be labeled as a number. Take note of this number and Once your TV is turned on, locate the "Input" or "source" button on your remote. This will allow you to switch which device you would like to view on your tv. If you have a DVD player or gaming unit hooked to the tv, this is how you would choose to display it. Once you've chosen the correct input number, you should eb able to view cable. Hope that this helped
