I have a Dudley combination lock but it won't open with the numbers they gave me.

I think all the Screwfix branches have the same opening hours - I think that is 8pm but they will be listed in the catalogue and on their website.

Good luck with that. You are hoping to get a code that any potential thief wants to know for a different reason. You may choose the approach that is common for Dudley locks, that involves sampling the code until it opens. This can be done about 100 times until you get an approximate code. However, I presume this safe has a more precise method of accepting combinations. Again, good luck. Don't lock anything valuable inside it until you find the code.

Contact the manufacturer.

1. Open the lock with the factory preset combination of 0005.
2. Find the tab on the end of the part of the locking mechanism that has the numbers.

3. Flip the tab up (with the combination set to the open combination). When you flip the tab up, you disengage the number dials from the tumblers, so that you can reset the combination without changing the position of the tumblers.
4. Change the combination to the desired combination.
5. Flip the tab back down. The dials are now re-engaged with the tumblers.

Same thing happened to me today. (Bell kevlar combo lock 12 mm) I sprayed WD4 0 on my lock (probably wasn't necessary) and let it soak in. I looked up videos online which weren't very helpful. I kept trying to open my lock and I happened to move one of the four digits and it opened. I'm not sure how the lock pins work but it seems like if you lock your bike and move the lock into ackward positions you can cause one or more of the pins to move. My combo was 2194 and I opened it with the combo of 2294. Go ahead and try your combos +/- one number at all four positions. Hope this helps.

Try rotating the numbers on the combination dial three times to clear any previous entry (stop on the zero's if this applies) and enter your combination one more time to see if this works and gets it open.

The default is 000; to set it, hold the lock open, move the dials to your numbers, and close/open three times. This will set the combination to your numbers.
