I have my PS3 hooked up to the tv through HDMI, but the tv wont recognize the hook up, i know i have to load the PS3 HDMI set up in the menu but its still not recognizing it when i try to set up, it only works through the yellow red and white cables when the tv is in game mode. When the PS3 tries looking for the active HDMI connection it goes back to default saying the connection was not available.

SOURCE: closed caption problem
I had the same issue... here's what I did. If power off your cable box, then press the menu button, there's a selection to enable or disable Closed Captioning. This works for both HD series Motorola boxes Comcast offers, at least in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Help HDMI Splitter Doesn't Work!
The HDMI splitter is intended to take one source to two displays. You need an HDMI switch to take two sources to one display, a device you can tell which input to select.

SOURCE: HDMI cable hooked up, now CLOSED CAPTIONING is stuck on!
It has got to be the box. I would try to contact Scientific Atlanta if any way possible. The TV doesn't choose what inputs it shows CC.In other words, it would show it on all Inputs if it was the TV. Good luck and Thanks

same problem but with a LG37 LC51.
it only recognizes the standard Scart connection, but not the HDMI.
I´ve reset the PS3 several times (as per manual), but no luck. Also played around with the configuration but still nothing.
