SOURCE: why wont iphone communicate with the ipod station

Have you made sure that there is no protective case on your iPhone that would be interrupting the connection between the two devices? Have you verified that your device is compatible with the dock? On most of the new ones they require a digital input from the iPod/iPhone which only iPods made in the past few years (2007 or later) can supply. Also try docking your device when the docking station is in standby mode.

Sony dock not working after iOS 6 update? Just says not an apple compatible product?? Any idea of an update or a fix on the way?

My wife had this problem with iPhone 4S after updating to ios6 on a Sony xdr-ds12ip docking station. Sound would play on iPhone off the docking station, but once it was docked no sound would come through the docking station speakers (docking station radio works fine, as did the iPhone before the iOS update). Fixed it by powering down both the iPhone and the docking station at the mains, gave it 2-3 minutes and then powered on the docking station and then the phone. Placed the iPhone in the docking station and voila the sound comes out of the speakers now.

My iphone 3GS is not been charging when I dock in JBL On Time 200P and it used to charge just fine. This happened after I used in a travel a hotel iHome as my charging dock, and then a wall charger for...

It seems an issue of the dock connector of your Iphone, please check if there's no contact blocked or bended, if there's one or more contacts with these conditions, you may need to replace the dock connector of Iphone.

Wont charge my iphone

The adapter off the docking station can be faulty and so that must be checked for working voltage.
If there is voltage on the adapter then the socking station charging section can be faulty.
The failure of the regulator IC in the docking station cannot be ruled out. You will need to remove the docking station after making sure there is no voltage to the docking section to the phone.

I pod charges, plays, but no sound

Easy, I had this problem too. The reason it isn't playing is because its not in all the way. I was getting very frustrated with this, so I kept trying to push it onto the dock to get it all the way down.
Solution:
1. Play a song on your ipod/iphone so you can hear it through the device.
2. Connect your ipod/iphone to the docking station(Bose) so that you hear the chime(This lets you know its charging).
3. Pick up the docking station and firmly press the ipod/iphone down on the connector.
4. Keep pressing it and wiggling around until you hear the music begin to play through the docking station.
It may take a few tries, but you will get it.
Hope this helped!
