Following are the reasons for overheating, just take care of these things::
Stop Overclocking your CPU
Make sure your Heat Sink is placed properly above the processor
Clean the Processor fan, Heat Sink and other peripherals
Use High Speed fans
Use CPU Heat Sink Paste in the processor
Use Additional Cooling Units
Shut down your computer at least two hour a day
Finally i will suggest you to get system utility program like PC Fresher to maintain your system performance

Why is my HP dv6 3013cl computer overheating

This could be due to a fault with the cooling system in your laptop not working properly, I would suggest opening up the back of the laptop and seeing if the fan needs cleaning out, if so just use a old rag and blow on it also, another could be where you are placing the laptop, if it is on a bed or pillow or something like this then it will cause the laptop to overheat so this is very common.

Why does slotomania shut down my computer?

Does it shut down the computer completely or it just restarts it?

This might be caused by overheating. Are there any signs of overheating in the computer? or outdated video driver. Try updating your video driver. You can also install Radarsync to automate the computer's updating mechanism.

I hope this helps!

HP Pavilion dv6-7010us won't boot up

Hello. The most common reasons for this issue are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem. The

power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.Hope this helps.

HP dv6 overheats, fan runs but little air comes out. Warranty just ran out, of course. On start up sometimes error message is "operating system can not be found"

Overheating is undoubtedly caused by obstruction to air flow in between the fan and the vent. The heat absorbed by the heatsink is driven out by the fan and when some obstruction(usually lumps of dust comes in between, this overheating problem appears. You will have to open it up and clean the path of the airflow to resolve this problem. As for the OS not found option, it is most likely to be due to a HDD crash. See if BIOS detects it. If it does it is not a malfunction and is definitely a crash. I am afraid you will have to re-install windows to resolve this problem.

My Hp DV6 3129 laptop get overheated everytime and also the hdmi port got broken within 3 months. Have sent HP for replacement/fix twice. However none of them were fixed and they are asking for half the...

HP Dv6s are notorious for overheating and it is most likely a defect on the manufacturing side of things. Either request a different model of laptop or have a professional dissemble the laptop to reapply cooling gel to the processor properly. Be warned, the latter option will void your warranty, which I assume is still in effect if you are able to return the laptop for repairs.
