This is an error that is reported when u have an extension/attachment plugged into your wiimote.. this can be either a motion plus, a nunchuck, anything other than just the wiimote itself is a possible candidate for this issue...remove it and the error should go bye-bye.. bye-bye :)

My remotes were synced to another wii how do I re-sync them?

Step by step instructions on how to sync the Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus to the Wii console using Standard Mode.

Note:

Only a Wii Remote in Standard Mode can turn the Wii console power ON or OFF.

What to Do:

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. If you are using a Wii mini, the sync button is located left hand side next to the battery compartment. The sync button is a darker shade of red than the console.
  3. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to be synced.
    • Some models of the Wii Remote include a hole in the battery cover and a tool on the wrist strap to push the SYNC Button with. With this model, the battery cover does not need to be removed to access the SYNC button.
  4. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED on the front of the Wii Remote will blink. While the lights are still blinking, quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the Wii console.
    wiiremotesynchstandard.gif
  5. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
  6. This sync procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.

How to snychronize a Wii Remote to the Wii console

A lot of people have trouble synchronizing their Wii Remotes to their Wii console. I have written a short tutorial on how to do this.

Figure out which scenario is similar to yours and proceed with the solution-

1) When you turn on the Wii console and press any button on the remote no lights light up at all. This is because the remote is dead, you must replace the batteries in the battery compartment on the underside of the remote. If the controller is using a charge pack you need to put the controller on its charger.

2) When you turn on the Wii console and press a button on the controller all four lights blink a couple times then turn off. This means the controller is not synchronized. If your controller has ever been previously synchronized all you need to do is press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time and it will sync up.

3) If option 2 doesn't work then this means you are preforming a first time synchronization with the remote. While the Wii console is turned on you should open the little compartment that is just below the disc tray. Then you should press the little red button. After pressing the red button you should open your Wii Remotes battery compartment, remove the batteries and press a similar little red button inside of the compartment. Put the batteries back into the controller and the controller should be synchronized!

If none of these solutions are working then the problem is a technical issue with either the Wii remote or the Wii system, you should contact technical support for more information.

I hope this helped with the synchronization of Wii Remotes!
No comunacation with remote

Try to resync your Nintendo Wii remote by removing the battery cover on the back and by pressing the red 'SYNC' button. Then afterwards press the SYNC button on the Wii console. If these steps and tips do not work, remove the batteries of the Wii Remote and leave them out for at least 5 minutes. Reinsert the batteries into the controller and try to sync the Wii Remote again. It could also mean that the batteries have stop working and need to be replaced.

Sync wii controller tmart

t is possible that your Wii remote has "lost" its sync. You can clear all previous synced Wii remotes with your console and reconnect the ones you are using. Power off the console and unplug the power cord for a few seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn the Wii back on. At the "Health and Safety" screen, open the small door on the faceplate of the console. Hold the red sync button for at least 15 seconds. All previous syncs have been removed from your console at this point. This process does not need to be repeated to re-sync each remote. Take the first Wii remote you wish to sync and remove the door to the battery compartment. Press and release the red sync button near the batteries. Quickly press and release the red sync button on the console. The lights on the remote will flash and then illuminate the light that corresponds to that remote's position (1, 2, 3, or 4). Repeat this process for each Wii remote in any desired order.
fix it. God bless you

First, remove the battery cover for the Wii Remote
Then open the small panel on the front of your Wii console
While holding down the sync button on the controller, press the sync button located under the small panel on the console, wait a moment, your contoller should then be synced.

Remotes won't connect. put in new batteries, tried pressing red button in side remotes, all 4 blue lights are flashing on both remotes

Hello kellyanne_ma,
The Wii must be searching for remotes before one will connect. If you are trying to connect controller #1 (meaning there are none connected) and it fails, there may be a problem with your Wii.
First, remove power from the Wii by unplugging it. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Once powered on and you see the health/safety information press and hold the red SYNC button on your Wii for 20 seconds.
Now press the Sync button on the controller and while the blue lights are flashing, press the Sync button on the Wii.
Hopefully, that will connect the controller! If it does not, you may need to contact Nintendo!

I dont know how to sync my wii and its nanchack>> not sure of thats whats it called

Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote included with your system should already be synchronized to your console. However, all additional Wii Remotes you use with your system also need to be synced in order to function properly..
There are two different modes of synchronizing (syncing):
  • STANDARD MODE - The Standard Mode procedure is used when adding additional Wii Remotes to your system or if you want to re-synchronize your original Wii Remote. Once synchronized, the Wii Remote will stay synced to the console unless you overwrite the settings by syncing the remote to a different console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please click here.

  • ONE TIME MODE - This mode allows you to temporarily use your remote on a Wii console other than your own, or to use a friend's remote on your console. It can also be used to change the order of the Wii Remotes, without the need to turn off the Wii console. One Time Mode does not delete the Standard Mode setting stored in the Wii Remote. In this mode, the Wii Remote will only communicate with the Wii console while the power is on. When the power is turned off, the Wii Remote will lose its sync with the Wii Console. For instructions on One Time Mode setup, please click here.
Note: Only a Wii Remote in Standard Mode can turn the Wii console power ON or OFF.
    Standard Mode Synchronization
Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote (how to).
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
  5. wiiremotesynchstandard.gifThis procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote addedto your system.
Go to the Next Step (Playing Game Discs) >

One Time Mode SynchronizationNote: This mode temporarily removes Standard Mode synchronization setup for all Wii Remotes until the power of the Wii console is turned off. When the power is turned back on again, the Standard Mode settings will return.
  1. Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.
  2. installation.gif
  3. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.
  4. homesmall.gif
  5. Select the Reconnect Option.
  6. wiiremotesynchotm1.gif
  7. Press the 1 and 2 Buttons at the same time on the Wii Remote that you want to synchronize with the console. If you are syncing multiple Wii Remotes, press the 1 and 2 Buttons on each Wii Remote immediately (without a significant pause) in the order you want them synced. The order in which you synchronize Wii Remotes determines the player order (1 through 4) for multiplayer games. The Player LED will blink during the syncing process. When the blinking stops, the connection is complete.
  8. wiiremotesynchotm2.gif
Set Up and Use of the Nunchuk

  1. Feed the cord on the Wii Remote's wrist strap through the connector hook. nunchukwristattach.gif

  2. Insert the Nunchuk plug into the Enternal Extension Connector on the bottom of the Wii Remote.
  3. nunchukinsertplug.gif

  4. nunchukhold.gif nunchukclipclose.gif Note: Place your hand through the wrist strap of the Wii Remote and hold the remote firmly in your hand. Slide the strap lock up so that the strap will not fall off of your wrist. Do not over tighten the strap lock so that it's uncomfortable. It should just be light enough to hold the wrist strap in place. (For more information on using the wrist strap, click here).

Wii remote will not follow command.

It's problem a radio interference, since the wii controller uses radio frequences to contact the device, try to resync the wii controller.

1. Turn the Wii console on and wait until the "Health & Safety" screen appears (don't press A).

2. Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console, just below the disc drive, and press and hold the red SYNC button for 15 seconds. This will clear all synced Wii Remotes from the console.

3. Resync the Wii Remote by removing the battery cover and pressing the red "SYNC" button. Do this for all Wii Remotes you wish to use, and test for proper response.

4. If the steps above do not work, remove the batteries of the Wii Remote and leave them out for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Reinsert the batteries and sync the Wii Remote again. Test for proper response.
If after removing the batteries for several minutes, and resyncing the Wii Remote, your still unable to get the Wii Remotes to work, try syncing another Wii Remote if available.

* If another Wii Remote works, then your previous Wii Remote will need to be repaired.
