Question about GE Kitchen Ranges
Our xl44 has the tan grates and when they get dirty they need strong commercial cleaners I get from a friend in the restaurant business. I have tried to clean them according to the instructions in the manuals, but it doesn't work. They always look dirty. Is there black ones we can get for that stove, or tell me HOW DO GET THEM CLEAN!!!
Think about putting them in the oven and select "clean" and see if the oven will clean them as it cleans itself.

SOURCE: control panel shows F7 and contantly alarming or beebing
F0 - F1 - F7
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs
If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.
If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Hello ,
Welcome to fixya.
I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,
You asked, is there anyway to bypass the oven lock or bypass the self cleaning mode to get oven working?
Why do you need to do this?
If the door lock is stuck in closed position and preventing you from using the range?
You may free this by following this procedure.
Threat it like an error code.
This can reset the system.
Turn the breaker off to cut the power for 5 minutes.
Then restart the breaker and try the range.
It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects most problems!.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.
If this does not remedy the problem, then the lock switch itself is bad and if you think you can bypass it then you may as well change it. Same labor!!.
Let me know how it works out.
Huuum

SOURCE: Bake ignitor Location
Hi Kurt, welcome to FixYA!
In the diagram below, Part #28 is your ovwn ignitor. (See the red markings to highlight it)
It is located underneath the oven floor, and the floor should come out by removing the two screws located in the bottom rear of the oven cavity. Take out the racks, take out those two screws, and lift the oven bottom up from the rear, then disengage the front lip and lift it out. I hope this is helpful info and thanks for allowing us to be of service to you. to you.

SOURCE: Lower oven burner will not light.
Hi I have a older GE that the oven won't light. It is a gas range that is electric ignited. The top burners do work but the oven will not light. Is it pricey to have this fixed?
