DS Lite game card won't "click" into slot

Whenever my son tries to put a game card in his DS Lite, the spring loaded slot won't lock to keep the card inside. Was wondering if this is something we can fix or if it would have to be sent out.

    Good fixya available if you don't want to dismantle the DS.

    Other option is one of these repairshops.

    You can try open the DS yourselves and correcting the problem.



    My fixya is without dismantling.

    Problem most probably arose from wrong insertion.

The spring that holds the game in place is broken and needs to be replaced. at some point someone may have snatched the game out instead of pressing it in then ejecting it. My sons ds lite has a jammed l button please help
with a special tri screw driver open up the DS from underneath theres about 6-7 screws, hidden one's are under battery in the corner, one in game card slot and two under the rubber padsRemove slot 2 cover. Carefully ease the back off the L and R buttons are spring loaded so hold them down so you don't loose track of how they are fitted. If the micro button has to be replaced then you will need to solder it in. The part is about £5. If you are in the UK and can't find anyone to fix it get back to me.

DS Lite Games will not stay in slot (retaining spring defective?)
Hi

You will need to replace the slot 1 card reader, these can be bought for around £5 on eBay. These need to be soldered to the motherboard, so some soldering skill is needed.

Brought my son nintendo lite ds with the game chip after playing one game on it the chip is now not working. no list of games are comming up
put the sd micro card into your computer with a USB reader and open to read the files, then click on games and see what games are loaded. You can download ds lite games from the internet and use drag and drop to load the load the games onto the sd card.

Nintendo DS Lite games won't work!
my son's DS had the same problem this week. With the DS turned off, ,I pushed the game in and held it right down while turning the DS on. The game registered and I let go of the game and it clicked in to place. The next time I tried the game it registered straight away. Good luck!

Card reader cant load the games
this is what i did ,

put the micro memory card in the adapter and load it up on your pc's card reader,click to view folders and, create new folders on the memory card , games/music/pictures , now unzip the games you have got till you see .NDS . files,, then just copy and paste these in the games folder , you may think this looks messy with loads of games files ,but it sorts itself out ,..

DS Lite with R4 Card: Games keep freezing up - please help!
You have to put the R4 v1.18 kernel on the memory card for it to work.
R4 web site is http://r4ds.cn/
In the download section is the r4 manual follow that and you should be ok.

Prob loading free ds games off pc.
When you say, "Keeps Loading Up..." what do you mean?

If it boots as if they were no N5 card, then I would suggest the N5 card or Micro SD card isn't seated properly and making contact with all the game slot contacts.
