My Troy-Bilt, Model TB425CS, will not shut down with the operator stop switch. I have checked out the switch and the wires all the way to the Mod:Ign unit. Does anyone know what is inside that unit? Is it a single coil to the spark plug wire. I was thinking about just running another wire to the spark plug wire, where it exits the mod: ign unit. Any thoughts or ideas? I currently skirt the problem by choking the unit and giving full throttle.
I hooked the tab on the side of the Ignition Module directly to the motor body and I could start the engine. It seems obvious to me that the internals of the ignition module are defective. Why does the cost of the item have to be so steep? its just a switch that grounds out the coil remove the switch and replace it with any that connects two wires to currentso when on the two wires are connected that should fix it if not follow the wires to where they end and check the connections.
far enough so that you can reach through filler cap and pull the line out to attatch fuel filter. then you can pull it back in and let it rest on the bottom of the tank
