My Laptop crashes everyday and i have to force a manual shutdown. After it's daily 1 crash, it won't crash or freeze on me for the rest of the day.
It's an HP Pavilion dv1672ea series running MS Windows Vista Ultimate (upgraded from Windows XP Pro), 2GB RAM (upgraded from 1GB)
This is about the only upgrades i've done. No other installed hardware. I have performed a number of HDD formatting and installed a variety of Operating System.
Have I corrupted my HDD in the process. I sometimes also get the blue screen of Death when it crashes.
Thank you Guys
It sound's like there could be a compatibility problem, maybe corrupt file's, or missing start up file's, have you tried doing a window's update, or doing a disc check on the hard drive, go to my computer right click the drive then go to propertie's, click on tool's then click check now for drive error's. if that do'es not work you may need to reformat back to the original xp os.
I think that even with 2 Gigs of Ram, Ultimate is a little much for your
lapto, and I recommend a reversion to XP Pro SP3.

Usually answered in minutes!
It usually crashes in the first 15-20mins of startup. I have disabled all unnecessary startup programs and only important ones start. It only happens in the first 20mins of startup depending on whether it's morning or evening .
And it usually doesn't matter what application i'm running.
I have a lot of applications installed on there for a laptop but it doesn't run slow or anything, it just crashes everyday before it runs smoothly.
To give you an idea of the applications I ran; Developing tools such as Visual Studio, SQL Reporting Services, SharePoint Designer, Virtual Machines of Windows 7 and Server 2K8 and other mini essential applications.
I hope this helps.
Thank you very much

Yes I have cleansed my PC with CCleaner. I have also performed a defrag with O&O defrag: http://www.oo-software.com/smb/en/produc... but still no luck. I'm not sure if it's the multiple formatting i've been doing or the RAM I upgraded because I kinda noticed the severity after I upgraded to Vista Ultimate and increased my RAM to 2GB.
Thank you guys..I'll try the HDD check and see if it's corrupted and if it's not the issue then I'll revert to XP and feed back very soon and I'll rate :-)

Have you tried running a registry cleaner?
Is there any event that you can correlate to your crashes, including time of day.
