Belkin N1 Wireless Adaptor not connecting on PC

I recently bought a Bekin N1 Wireless USB adaptor to connect my PC to the wireless network. The USB adaptor works finr on my laptop (with the laptopns wireless switched off)but not on the PC. I range Belkin but they say it is something to do with the USB port needing upgrading so they can not assist. Can anyone advise me how to upgrade the relevant USB port - or other tests I could try to make it work. Thanks Beth

What the adviser meant was your pc cannot provide enough power to the usb port to power the unit, assuming you have tried other ports and it still wont work; you will need to either purchase a pci usb 2.0 card adapter or purchase a mains powered usb hub and connect to this instead.

Buy a wireless router to connect to.
Your USB adaptor is useless without one unless that is you can connect to someone else's unsecured network.

REPLACED F5D7050 WITH F6D4050, NOW LIMITED CONNECTIVITY

You need to make sure the new belkin adaptor has the same settings as the router you are using. If you set a password on your router then you need to set a password the same on your new adaptor.

D-Link wireless router and Belkin Wireless G USB Network adapter

Set your wireless network as a preferred network and to automatically connect to it. Also set it at the top of the list so that it takes precedence. If you continue to get conflicts, change the channel of the router.

Can not identify Belkin N1 Wireless USB Adaptor on PC

Hi, A couple of things: 1. Have you tried all the USB ports of your desktop PC (front and back)? 2. What is your desktop PC brand/model or at least the motherboard? and What OS please?; 3. If running Windows in the desktop PC, can you please check in your Device Manager if your USB are 2.0? 4. Are you using a USB hub or directly connected to the PC's USB port? Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back with your desktop brand/model/motherboard. Good luck and kind regards.
