Syntax olevia, model #247fhd-t11

This tv just went totally black and only had sound. it was still under warranty when i contacted the manufactuer. they requested me to return the tv and they would either fix it or send me a new tv. it took 6 months to get some information about the status of the tv. they were to send me a new tv, and then Olevia went out of business and now i am stuck with nothing. they were supposed to returm the broken tv, but haven't yet. no one should ever buy this brand ever, no matter how cheap they are. i would like to at least get a replacement for the damaged one. the company has been very rude when contacted and clain they cannot exchange or replace my tv cause there are more left. i am just stuck with a broken tv and a bill that was almost paid when the tv broke.

I feel your pain. We in the service industry see this every day with those off brand sets that are sold at discount stores of which I cannot say. Please stay with brands you have heard of most of your life and you stand a better chance of getting a resolution to a problem with it.

SYNTAX OLEVIA LT30 POWER SUPPLY

Yes they are bankrupt, and they did see repair services out to third party vendor- this appears to be phone support at $25 per 1/2 hour.

email response from service inquiry....

Thank you for contacting us. My name is Ravin and I understand that you have called in today for further troubleshooting but you were offered a paid service instead. Based on the information provided, I believe that the following steps should effectively resolve the issue:

I am sorry to inform you that, Syntax-Brillian, the manufacturer of the Olevia Brand, has declared chapter 11 bankruptcy and has ceased all operations. Because Syntax-Brillian is no longer in business the warranty for your product is void.

Amergence Technology, a 3rd party repair company, can offer paid repair services for your television and a paid service for further troubleshooting. Since Syntax-Brillian went out of business, Amergence is offering repair services to owners of Olevia HDTV's.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Support Team at 866-965-3842 Monday through Friday between 7.00am 5.00pm PST

Sincerely,
Ravin

Olevia lt 30 hv

You both need to IMMEDIATELY download your warranty from the Olevia website. Read it completely. If you are still under warranty, then contact them IMMEDIATELY in writing pursuant to the warranty and demand that they fix the TV for free pursuant to the warranty. Do not accept "No" for an answer. Document every communication and contact you make, including date, time, who you spoke with (first and last name and/or employee number), and the content of the communication.

Do not delay on contacting them, because the warranty is controlled by the date you purchased the TV. If it passes, then you are totally screwed. Olevia will ignore you.

ALTERNATE SOLUTION:
Do not buy any Olevia or Syntax products in the future. Tell everyone you know to not buy their products either.
