Maytag Neptune dryer, model mde6700ayw, cycle selector knob will not change cycles. It gets stuck on a random cycle even when I power off, power on. Tried to put in service mode but as the cycle selector knob won't turn, I cannot get an error code. I can physically turn the knob, it's the cycle that won't respond to the turn. Then randomly, it will start working again.

SOURCE: MAYTAG NEPTUNE GAS DRYER

Unplug the unit and take off the cover where the cord goes in. You may have one burnt wire under that cover.

SOURCE: My maytag electric dryer is not getting hot.

It sounds like the element shorted out and caused more damage to the unit. Remove and check the heating elment, thermal fuse (located near element), and timer. The timer will be hard to test if you don't have a meter. I would suggest that you check the element first. This is probably your main problem.

SOURCE: Cycle selector knob is flashing for all cycles and

After trying the Fixya posted and LG service recommendation of pressing the pause/play button for 5-8 seconds and unplugging the machine for one minute before plugging back in (which didn't work) we unplugged it for over an hour and the computer reboot/reset itself.

sounds like a stuck or shorted membrane switch.
which would require replacing the console. if you can access the tech guide in the control panel you can do a membrane switch test and other diagnostics.

SOURCE: I have a Maytag Performa

Yes, you can have a few different issues going on with your dryer and it may be hard to pin down. 1. You may have a intermittent door switch. I've seen this many times. 2. You may also have a motor that is tripping it's overload. 3. You also may have a timer issue. This may be difficult to fix on your own so you may want to call a pro. If it was me, I'd check the door switch or replace it. If it's not that, you may want to consider a new dryer due to the high repair cost. Hope this helps,

My maytag neptune front load dryer model #MDE9700AYW shows a T5 code and will not heat.

Check to see if your thermistor is bad by measure the resistance. It should be 10K Ohms at room temperature.
If it's bad, replace it BUT you have to CLEAR to error code.
1. Enter to Service Mode by press CHIME and TEMPERATURE keys for 3 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard.
2. Access Diagnostic Codes by pressing WRINKLE PREVENT. A d will be displayed. Rotate the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB in either direction to read it.
3. Press SENSOR DRY and TIME keys for 3 seconds to clear it.
4. Power OFF to exit Service Mode
5. Power ON

Due to power outage now the Neptune dryer model MDE6700AYW does not work and goes into an error code of t5 and there are keys that need to he pressed in sequence to get this corrected, please let me know...

My book say's you have to be in service mode first.
turn the dryer on, then press chime and temperature keys at the same time for 3 seconds. The diagnostic codes can be accessed by then pressing the wrinkle prevent key. a "d' wil be displayed. you can then turn the knob to see all of the codes that are listed. To clear the codes, press the sensor dry level and time keypads together for 3 seconds while veiwing the list. This cleared all of my codes. Good luck.

Maytag Neptune Dryer not heating

Q - My electric dryer runs but will not heat, what could stop my dryer from heating?
A - Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.
A ohm meter test for these parts is here.
