There's a high probability that it is caused by a loose cable. Certain graphics cards require extra power, so there's a power cable connected to it. If that cable is disconnected and the computer started, the card makes a loud beeping noise to alert you to fix it. Consequently insufficiently powered graphics card is unable to display any image.
How to investigate this?
1. Open up the computer (assuming you have the skills and courage to do so)
2. Try to find the graphics card (it could look something like this:

3. Look for the corner of the card. The cable should go somewhere here. Here's an example image:

BTW the cable might already be at the right place, but just not tight enough, so if it's already where it's supposed to, give it a little push to see if it goes just a bit deeper.
