Have you tried a diff dvd? also does the unit have anything on top of it? Overheating may be an issue.

I insert a movie from the video store in the dvd player Zenith DVC2550.It got stuck in back and turn table was rotating without picking up the disc. I had open cover to remove the disc. I manage to close...

It sounds like you jammed the door gear which must be closed prior to playback. You can try to take the cover off again and cycle the insert mechanism but if you put much force on it the machine may be destroyed...

Tip

Region free code for Zenith DVC2550 DVD

Power on the player with no disk in the drive.
Press "PAUSE" on the remote.
Enter "3 1 4 1 5 9" on the remote (the word CODE appears on the display).
Enter "0" on the remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.).
Press "PAUSE" on the remote.
Power the player off and then back on.

To play any region disc in these players shown below simply follow these instructions.
Open the tray, place an R1 disc on it but don't close it.
On the remote press 0, 1, 2, 3, PLAY.
The tray should then close, if not close it, and the player is now completely region free.

Trying unplugging the set and leaving it unplugged for about 30 minutes. Plug back in, and it should return to the factory settings.

PS3 freezes but sound still works

when it happens, give it some time, like 5-10 min. the ps3 is most likely accessing the hard drive, and if it is, shutting down in the middle of it could currupt your hdd. if it doesnt work, even after 10 min, call sony tech support, but if it works fine afterwords, i dont see why it would be neccessary. unless it gets worse, i think you should just turn it on, turn it off after a few min, then back on, and then play.

Hearing static while the dvd is playing how would i go about cleaning it

I have the Zenith XBV410 (combo dvd/vcr). I cleaned the lens using the Maxell Lens cleaner kit but nothing happened. Then I ran the Progressive Scan Mode and that seemed to do the trick. Word of caution: Progressive Scam Mode is difficult to turn off so would recommend you remove dvd from player, then press and hold the stop button for a min of 5 seconds up until whatever it takes to disablel PSM (Progressive Scan Mode)

DVD freezing up

It very well could be a lens problem.
When the laser is in a desperate search for more data, it can max out the whole unit trying to find it. Same thing will happen with a PC's dvd drive if you put a dvd in and it is scratched or damaged.

The lens in your unit may not be dirty, but it may need to be calibrated again. Knocks in transport, dust, bugs, general use etc etc can all have an effect on the laser.

The fact it's doing it in a cycle could also be heat related. Again this goes back to the calibration. If the laser is working far harder then it should, it will heat up and begin to fail.

Since it is only a few months old though, I would call in on the warranty to have it looked at without causing you further grief.

The door switch has been damaged or a belt is slipping or the timing is out because it has been forced by the description of your problem.
