IBM 6400 Dot Matrix Printer - Need Drivers for Windows XP
I purchase a used IBM 6400 Model 15 dot matrix printer. The printer is printing 3 pages per minute (real slow). The printed pages have the following specs: 1) Letter size 2) RTF format 3) Courier New Fonts - Font size: 6, 8, 12, 14 With the delivered IBM drivers, the printer prints 21 pages per minute but with green bar 132 column pages. I've googled for Windows XP and Windows Server 2005 print drivers but I have not had any success in finding the drivers. Please help.

Try running couple of these test, to see if it might be another issue.
It should be printing these test at 1500 Line Per Minute... ?
1500LPM is at 10CPI if you have (Font size: 6, 8, 12, 14) it will make a difference.
Change your driver to Generic/Text, rerun your report... any difference?

Might be your gap is set to high. try moving the right lever from A to B for example and see if it clears it out. Also might be your parallelism, you will find to hex screws on the right and left of the platen assy that u can adjust. This will balance out the shuttle if one side is printing to light and another is printing to dark. Rory 708-597-4222
Have you tried to check the print settings? Click on Start>Control Panel>Printers(Printers and faxes)> Right Click on the DFX-9000 printer icon>left click on properties>click the printing preferences button located below the properties box. In this window you should see the setting of the printer itself.
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud
Sounds like the configured paper sized does not match the actual paper page height. So that when it does Top Of Form paper movement the paper stops slightly too low. Doing several form feeds should confirm this. If this is it then reconfigure the paper size to match the paper. Also measure to paper to see if it matches what you want it to be.
