I have PrintMaster Premier 8.0, I would like to install on my computer running windows 7. It will not download. I do not want to purchase another version. Is there any updates that I can download to allow the program to install and run?

Printmaster 18.1 is not really compatible with Windows 8. Here's a link to a possible solution directly from Broderbund. You can try it, but you might be out of luck.

Printmaster 18 1 Platinum

Printmaster 16 Platinum is an older program and is compatible with XP and older versions of Windows.

First check which version of Windows 7 that you have. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If your version title ends with x64, you will need to use an option that lets you run an older version of Windows. If you do not see x64 in the title, then the compatibility mode might work.

For the 32-bit OS, right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the Compatibility tab, check the box for always run in the compatibility mode and select an older version of Windows. Apply the changes and click OK. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. You may need to repeat this to run the software as well. This is not guaranteed to work in Windows 7 32-bit.

The alternative is to run an older version of Windows. This could be on a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (if your hardware supports the feature). Most of these methods require licensed version of the older Windows OS. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or upgrade to them, you can run a virtual XP OS for free. Download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Then install the Printmaster program in XP as if this is the only OS. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.)

The only other option is to upgrade to a version of Printmaster that is Win7 compatible. One option is Printmaster 2012 Platinum available here: http://www.broderbund.com/p-273-printmaster-2012-platinum.aspx .

the problem is that windows 7 is not compatible with Print-Master premier 7.0

The program cannot run on windows 7 because it wasn't programmed for it. This is why the error message comes up.

There is nothing you or anyone can do about this.

There is no direct solution to this issue since there is no driver running under Windows 7 for your product .
You could install a virtual version of XP on your machine with http://download.cnet.com/VMware-Player/3000-2094_4-10470784.html or via Microsoft's if you are using Integral or Professional .
Otherwise , you will need to purchase a recent version of Printmaster compatible with W 7 , if available .

Try installing PrintMaster Deluxe 7.0 on Vista, using the compatibility mode to windows 98.

Try running Printmaster in Windows XP compatibility mode.
1. Right click on the printmaster icon. A pop-up menu would appear. 2. Select 'Properties.' 3. Select the 'Compatibility' Tab. 4. Note the first check box. It says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" 5. Select 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2)' or 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)'
If this doesn't work, the problem may be with your installation...

Start the Windows Program Compatibility Wizard.
Tell it that you want to install a program to run under Windows XP.
Then, under its "supervision", install the software.

Get a Mac. Final solution.

I am guessing that your new computer has windows vista on it. That may be the reason Printmaster 12 will not install. Certain programs or their installations are not compatible with Vista.

I'm not sure what errors you are getting, and I am assuming you are running Windows Vista, so again I'm just guessing.

You could try to launch the setup program manually and using compatibility mode by following these steps:

1. Insert your installation disk.
2. Click the start button

3. Click on Computer
4. Right click on the drive containing your installation CD
5. Select Explore from the menu.
6. Find the Setup or Install file in the list.
7 Right click on it.
8. Select Properties.
9 Select the Compatibility tab at the top.
10. check "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
11. In the drop down menu select windows xp
12. check "disable visual themes"
13. Check "run this program as administrator" (if it is available)
14 click OK

15 now double click on the setup/install program.
