Electric Desktop Stapler 02210 won't staple consistently and will staple even when something isn't in it

What has most likely happened is part of a staple is stuck in the front portion of the stapler where it forms the staple and presses it into the stapler.
You would most likely have to remove the stapler, and remove the binding staple from the stapler head.

There is a contact switch / lever on the staplers that engages the stapler when it is pressed. It must be stuck. locate the lever and see if that's the case, and release it if you can. just my 2 cents, because I'm a copier/fax tech -not a stapler expert :)

hi there. i hope i can help you? what you need to do is open the stapler up check for any stuck staples? where they come out. dont put two many in at any one time. please make sure you are putting the correct staples in? is there a sound when in normal use? if yes it may well be a blockage. also check the fuse in the plug just in case ? i hope this will help you,

It could be either jammed up with staples or the spring mechanism is shoddy.
