EIKI LC-XG110 ... after getting warm, the projection appears to have a blue stain. How I best can describe this is it looks like it's melting blue. Over time (a movie) the stain will move from the bottom to the top and leave a trail. It really does seem that something is melting. When cooled and you use it over, the same thing happens and not necessarily from where it last left off. I starts over from the bottom reaching to the top. I do understand that the optics are at work here and the 'flow' is moving downward. Any one? Is the Blue LCD failing? Can it be replaced? Am I completely wrong?

SOURCE: Bulb Life

The bulb should last for about 2500 hours as per the manufacturers.
Try resetting the timer even without replacing the light bulb. Check page # 49 of the PDF file on how is done.
http://www.aboutprojectors.com/pdf/eiki-lc-sd15-manual.pdf
I would suggest to turn the projector OFF when not in use.
Good Luck.

SOURCE: the projector switching off after 30 seconds

check the following :
1.does the lamp glow
2.do u get the connected image
3.if yes does the screen show temperature or overheat
4.if yes then one of the cooling fans do not work properly & hence the unit turns to standby & goes into protection
if no 1 does not happen, then check the lamp physically,it should not show melted or breakage.
if the lamp seems ok, then the ballast is defective!

SOURCE: Our Eiki LC-986 projector has worked flawlessly

It sounds like it is overheating. Are the fans all working? If so, try opening the casing and blowing all the dust out with a can of air from Staples/Office Depot. If the fans aren't working you may need to replace them.

SOURCE: in few minutes after turn on the projector (Eiki Lc-xnb4m) ..

are any of the leds flashing? could be overheating. blow out the dust with canned air. if the lamp is old, it could be that it needs to be replaced. if the fans go out immediately as well, it could be the power supply.

LC-XG200 bulbs where can I get one in the UK? At the moment my image looks blurred is that caused by the lamp or is some other issue?

In the first instance:

Adjust focus of the projector.

Make sure a projection screen is at least 4.1' (1.2m) from the projector.

Check Projection Lens to see if it needs cleaning.

NOTE : Moving a projector from a cool temperature location to a warm temperature location

may result in moisture condensation on Projection Lens. In such an event, leave a
projector OFF and wait until condensation disappears.

When I connectlaptop with a vga cable I get ghosting It gets better when I use a shorter 6'cable But the room has a 50' cable installed. I did try a new 50' cable and it did not help

long cables should be of perfect quality with low electric capicitance.
otherise echoes will occure and shadows in picture.
Try a good quality IP- converter set i.e. from EXTRON
You used a shorter cable with better results, so don't look for a cause inside the projector. Picture quality stands with cables !!

There is a lot of cheap rubbish in the market.....
