If the hard disc is corrupted, that you will be unable to retrieve your saved files. If you have them saved to sony's cloud server, then you are fine to reformat, if not, they I'm sorry, but there is no fix for your issue, you will lose you all of your saved data.

SOURCE: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for PS3. Getting

if you have a usb flash drive.
copy your game save files to it and delete the whole game including the saved games.

re-install and you should still have your saved game on the usb stick

copy this over and it should work.

if its the game save itself that is corrupted, then i'm afraid you have to start the game over again

Search 'how to copy ps3 game saves' and you'll find plenty of good step by step instuctions

SOURCE: PS3 CORRUPTED DATA

does he have problem saving any other games if so sorry to say he may have a bad hard drive or one that is about to die. you can try reformatting it. go to settings>system settings>restore ps3 systems once there u can start to reformat your hard drive. note it will erase everything he has on the system. and if u downloaded any games from the psn you can retrieve them under the download management. you just have to redownload them. before reformatting though try this method.

turn the system off from the back.
turn it back on. (it should be in standby mode now)
press the power button and keep your finger on it till it beeps three times. (its about a second apart.) and turns off.
take your finger off of the power button and press it again.
this time keep your finger on it till it beeps twice quickly and take your finger off.
it should tell you to connect a controller with a usb
once u do i'll give u a menu.
select option #3 and let it finish

this option will fix most minor software side problems
if this don't help u may want to reformatting your hard drive and hope u don't have to replace it. and before u do if u have any game saves u want to save u can copy those over to a usb flash card

SOURCE: My ps3 shut down while restoring default & now

You are going to have to format your hard drive unfortunately, there is no solution to your problem because by shutting off the system during setting the system back to its default settings you corrupted the data on the hard drive.

My ps3's data got corrupted and it said i could restore it.i did, but now my online friends list is gone and so is my other data!please help me!

Unfortunately, if you did a full system restore without backing up your data, it's gone. Sorry, man. However, if you sign into your PSN account, you'll still have your trophies. I know it's not much. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Playstation 3 hard disk files corrupted???

hey ash,

ps3 Hard drive needs to be manually reformatted and checked for bad sectors.

as what youve said, you already formatted it and yet it still says there is a corrupt system file.

when i say "manually formatted" you have to clearly take the hard drive out and format it using another pc or ps3.

I tried to jailbreak my ps3 while it was on firmware 3.56. I get to 99% and it says"data is corrupted

Hi there,

If the Data is corrupted, then push and hold the PS3 power button down until you hear it beep twice. This will boot it up into Restore Mode.

From Restore Mode, you will want to Restore PS3 System. Unfortunately, this will reformat the system causing you to lose any of your saved data. However, it will restore the system back to a working condition again.

My suggestion is that next time you attempt to jailbreak your PS3, back up the hard drive first. This way if something goes wrong you won't lose your saves or achievements. :)

Playstation 3 screen says " cannot start, the correct hard disk was not found." after turned on. will do nothing else. any ideas?

A long shot but it sounds like your hard drive has basically "switched off". If you have a USB sata hard drive dock I can help but its a bit of a complicated process. You need to remove the hard drive from the PS3 and plug it into the USB sata dock then connect it to your computer. Goto Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Managment. Look in the lower area of the screen that appears for your PS3 drive, probably E:, and look if it says "Not initialized". If it does, right click where it says that then click Initialize Disk. Put it back in your PS3 when it is done and hopefully it will turn back on. You will lose all saved data though as the hard drive will need to be formatted.

Hope this helps

Ps3 hard disk file is corrupted

This problem always happen when you switch off your console while it is saving data or reading data from the HDD, so your HDD file system damaged, in order to solve this problem you need an external SATA 2.5 hard disk case, extract your PS3 hard drive and insert it in the SATA 2.5 case, plug your hard dist to a computer, you will find that the whale hard disk is unallocated, so format it with FAT32 or NTFS using your computer, after that return your hard disk to your PS3 console, now, your PS3 console will recognize it, and it will ask you to format it, say YES!!... congratulation your PS3 console is working now

BUT REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA IN THE HARD DISK INCLUDING YOUR SAVES, IMAGES, MOVIES AND ALL YOUR STUFF

The playstation 3 plays dvd's but not games it does not load them up at all.

1 Discs that are not compatible with the system cannot be played. 2 Games that can be played on this system have to be on PLAYSTATION3 format software. Playstations format software canbe played but may not perform correctly. Please check if the games you wish to play are on this format. 3 Please check if the data for PS3 format software is saved on the system's hard disk. The data is displayed under Game - Saved data utility

I have a corrupted file on my ps3 and it trys to repair it self after 30 seconds.it goes right back to the same screen. HELP!!!

Your problem may be more widespread than just that one file. The file system on your hard drive may be corrupt. You can try to reformat the entire hard drive in an attempt to remove all the errors in the PS3 data, or you can buy a new hard drive. You may have to replace the hard drive if the hard drive is failing, and therefore not reading or writing data properly.

To reformat the drive, in the PS3 menu:
NOTE: This will erase everything you saved on the hard drive.

1) Go to the Settings menu, then select System Settings.
2) Select Format Utility, then select Format Hard Disk.
3) Select Quick Format

To replace the Hard Drive, buy any 2.5 inch notebook hard drive that has a serial ATA connection. Then remove the old hard drive from the left side of the PS3 and install the new hard drive.

After installing the new Hard Drive you will need to format the drive. When you turn on the PS3, you will see onscreen instructions to help you with this.
